🛡️ DEFENSE FUNDING AND IRAN STRIKE PREPARATIONS: The government will approve the transfer of NIS 1 billion for “urgent” defense procurement, with most of the money diverted from funds earmarked for investment in the technology sector.
According to Channel 13, the IDF is preparing for the possibility of resuming independent strikes against Iran without U.S. approval or support. The network reported Saturday that Israel is keeping the option of unilateral strikes on Iran on the table if the U.S.-Iran war ends.
The report followed a CNN report that U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Dan Caine told senior Trump administration officials that further military escalation could backfire and that victory through airstrikes alone was unlikely.
Iran’s president threatened to resign if his country does not sign an agreement, claiming that the country’s economic situation is catastrophic.
🛡️ OFARIM INFILTRATION ALERT CONCLUDES WITHOUT SECURITY INCIDENT: Sirens sounded yesterday in the Ofarim area over a suspected terrorist infiltration.
During a security-force chase after a suspicious vehicle in the area, the vehicle entered the community. Security forces were dispatched, and the suspect exited the vehicle. A security personnel member carried out a suspect apprehension procedure that included fire toward him.
The suspect was apprehended and transferred to Israel Police for further handling. The incident has concluded, and there is no suspicion of a security incident. The IDF remains in close contact with local communities and security forces in the region.
⚔️ HEZBOLLAH DRONE STRIKES NEAR IDF FORCES IN SOUTHERN LEBANON: A Hezbollah explosive-laden drone struck near Israeli forces in the Ali Taher Ridge area of southern Lebanon earlier Friday, causing no injuries or damage.
The IDF did not initially publish the incident. Ynet first reported it that evening.
Responding to the report, the IDF said it “publishes information to the public based on professional considerations and situational assessments.”
“The IDF spokesperson will not publish information that, according to the situational assessment, could endanger our forces operating in the combat zones,” the military added.
Separately, an IDF soldier was moderately wounded in an “operational accident” in southern Lebanon earlier yesterday. The soldier was evacuated to a hospital and his family was notified.
🗳️ ERDAN SAYS HE REJECTED LIKUD RESERVED SPOT; LIKUD DENIES OFFER: Gilad Erdan told “Meet the Press”: “Likud offered me a reserved spot on its slate in recent days, but I declined. I clearly prefer to recommend a right-wing candidate to form the government, but it should be a broad government that advances military conscription.”
Likud responded: “Prime Minister Netanyahu did not offer Gilad Erdan a reserved spot on the party list, either directly or indirectly.”
In a separate official statement, Likud said: “Edelstein and Erdan are disgruntled fake right-wingers. They are working to steal votes and hand them over to the fraudulent government of the left-wing bloc headed by Eisenkot, together with Yair Golan and the Muslim Brotherhood.”
