⚠️ Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued his first public remarks nearly 20 hours after Iran’s attack on Israel, reiterating that Israel will prevent Tehran from obtaining nuclear weapons and maintain freedom of action against both Iran and Hezbollah. He stated that Israel had eliminated Iran’s immediate threat, weakened Hezbollah significantly, and continues dismantling Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon, including underground facilities in the Beaufort Ridge area.
🎯 Netanyahu emphasized that Israel rejects any new deterrence framework in which attacks on Israel would go unanswered. He confirmed that Israel responded directly after Iran’s strike and stated that any future attacks by Iran would also be met with forceful retaliation.
🛡️ Defense Minister Israel Katz reinforced Israel’s deterrence posture regarding Lebanon, warning that attacks on northern Israeli communities would continue to trigger strikes in Beirut’s Dahieh district. He also rejected Iranian attempts to link the Lebanon front with direct Iranian retaliation against Israel.
🌍 According to The New York Times, President Trump asked Netanyahu to avoid further strikes on Iran amid efforts to advance a potential U.S.-Iran framework agreement that could reopen negotiations toward a broader arrangement. The report also stated that Netanyahu ordered the IDF to halt preparations for a significantly larger retaliatory strike after strong pressure from Washington.
♟️ Israeli officials continue signaling opposition to any Iranian effort to establish a new strategic equation linking Hezbollah attacks from Lebanon with direct Iranian responses. Israeli officials view such a framework as a major constraint on Israel’s long-term operational flexibility and deterrence posture.
🛡️ The Home Front Command announced a return to near-full routine activity across most of Israel beginning Tuesday morning. Schools are expected to reopen in most areas, while restrictions remain in parts of northern Israel and several frontline communities under partial activity guidelines and protected-space requirements.
⚠️ An Israeli official told Channel 12 that Israeli operations in southern Lebanon are expected to continue despite the halt in strikes on Iran. Officials indicated that Hezbollah attacks would continue to risk Israeli strikes in Beirut’s southern suburbs, including Dahieh. At the same time, Israeli officials reportedly assessed internally that the immediate round of direct confrontation with Iran may have concluded.
⚠️ Iran announced the end of its operations against Israel while simultaneously warning that continued Israeli strikes in Lebanon could trigger renewed attacks. Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon reportedly continued after that statement. Iranian messaging appeared aimed both at presenting the current confrontation as contained and at deterring further Israeli activity in Lebanon.
♟️ Attention has increasingly shifted toward Tehran’s warnings and whether Iran intends to respond directly if fighting in Lebanon continues. Based on the wording of earlier IDF statements, the recent Hezbollah rocket fire did not appear to meet the threshold, under existing deterrence patterns, for immediate Israeli strikes in Dahieh.
✈️ Iran canceled all domestic flights nationwide until further notice. Meanwhile, multiple U.S. Air Force aircraft were observed positioned at Ben Gurion Airport.
🌐 Israeli officials also indicated that a central issue moving forward will be preventing any future U.S.-Iran negotiations from becoming strategically tied to developments on the Lebanon front.
