🎯 A Hezbollah drone cell was eliminated near Kfar Tebnit in southern Lebanon. IDF Commando Brigade troops identified a Hezbollah drone operating near Israel’s Security Zone and nearby forces. The Israeli Air Force located the terrorists controlling it and struck the cell after they took cover, removing what the IDF described as a threat to its troops.
🚧 The IDF attributed a deadly explosion involving Lebanese Army personnel to Hezbollah. A Lebanese Army vehicle drove over an explosive device near Al-Mansouri, inside the Security Zone, killing one soldier and wounding an officer and another soldier.
Following an examination, the IDF said the device was not Israeli and had apparently been planted by Hezbollah. It added that Israeli forces had not recently operated at the location and that the Lebanese vehicle entered the zone without the coordination required under the existing mechanism.
The IDF urged Lebanese civilians and security forces to avoid areas where Hezbollah continues to pose a threat and to coordinate movements in advance.
🛡️ An interceptor was launched toward a false target in southern Lebanon. No sirens were activated, in accordance with protocol, and the IDF said there was no suspicion of a security incident. The launch occurred in an area where Israeli troops are operating and remains under review.
🚫 The IDF reported an increase in illegal civilian crossings into Syria. Several Israelis crossed from the Majdal Shams area last Thursday and were located near the border, detained and transferred to police.
Additional attempts from the southern Golan Heights were prevented today. The IDF warned that such incidents divert troops from operational activity, compromise security and endanger both civilians and soldiers. It condemned the crossings as criminal offenses and called for decisive law-enforcement action.
🏹 The IDF eliminated senior Islamic Jihad and Hamas operatives in Gaza. Imam Khamis Akasha Abu Brikh, an Islamic Jihad sniper, was eliminated in central Gaza after the organization recently advanced sniper attacks against Israeli troops.
Muhammad Taysir Ahmad Ubeid, a commander in Hamas’ Operations Headquarters, was eliminated separately in northern Gaza. The IDF said Ubeid had advanced attacks against Israeli civilians and troops throughout the war and that both men posed threats to forces operating in Gaza.
✈️ The United States is expanding its regional air deployment as President Trump considers further operations against Iran. The administration informed Israel that dozens of additional aerial-refueling aircraft are planned, although no final decision on expanded strikes has been made.
Officials said the options under consideration include attacks on Iranian infrastructure, additional nuclear facilities and the underground Pickaxe Mountain site. Israeli reporting indicated that 10 tankers were expected within 24 hours, joining a substantial number already operating over the Middle East.
The additional aircraft are expected to operate from Israeli military airbases rather than Ben Gurion Airport to reduce disruption to civilian aviation. Israel’s Transportation Ministry had limited the number of tankers at Ben Gurion to 20 because of summer flight pressures.
The deployment was coordinated with the IDF, allowing the Israeli Air Force to prepare. The IDF said it is facilitating the American deployment while protecting Israel’s civilian aviation requirements.
The Wall Street Journal also reported that F-16 fighter jets are being redeployed from Germany to the region. The aircraft can target Iranian air-defense radar and air-to-ground missile assets. F-35 stealth fighters from Britain are also reportedly deploying with additional tanker support.
