🎯 Expanded IDF Operations Across Southern Lebanon: Over the past week, the IDF struck more than 440 Hezbollah targets across southern Lebanon as part of ongoing efforts to remove operational threats. More than 220 Hezbollah operatives involved in advancing attacks against IDF troops were eliminated.
Israeli operations focused heavily on the Tyre area, where the IDF targeted observation posts, weapons depots, drone launch sites, and additional Hezbollah infrastructure. Approximately 100 targets were struck over the weekend alone. IDF ground forces, together with the Israeli Air Force, also located and destroyed weapons depots containing mortar shells, anti-tank missiles, and other military equipment.
⚔️ Hezbollah Fire and Israeli Responses Continue: Hezbollah continued launching rockets, mortar shells, hostile aircraft, and explosive drones toward areas where IDF troops are operating in southern Lebanon. Several projectiles fell near Israeli forces, though no injuries were reported.
After Hezbollah launched rockets toward IDF troops, with the projectiles landing in open areas, the Israeli Air Force identified and struck two operatives operating from the launch zone. Secondary explosions following the strike indicated the presence of stored weapons at the site. An attempted surface-to-air missile launch toward an Israeli Air Force aircraft operating over southern Lebanon was also identified but was unsuccessful.
🛩️ Aerial Threats and Northern Air Defense Activity: The Israeli Air Force intercepted multiple hostile aircraft launched from Lebanon toward both operational areas in southern Lebanon and Israeli territory. Additional aerial targets either fell in open areas or were later determined to be false identifications.
Sirens warning of hostile aircraft infiltrations were activated in several northern communities, including Misgav Am, Metula, Majdal Shams, Meron, Shlomi, Hanita, and Kiryat Shmona. Some missile and rocket alerts were triggered due to concerns over falling interceptor debris. No injuries were reported.
🛡️ Closed Military Zone Declared Along Northern Coastline: Following a situational assessment, the IDF declared the Rosh HaNikra and Achziv coastline areas a closed military zone beginning Thursday evening. Entry into the area was prohibited.
🕯️ Golani Officer Killed in Hezbollah Drone Attack: The IDF announced that Capt. Maoz Israel Recanati, 24, a platoon commander in Golani Brigade’s 12th Battalion from Itamar, was killed in a Hezbollah explosive drone attack in southern Lebanon on Friday. A civilian contractor was also killed in the incident.
Recanati is the seventh IDF soldier killed in southern Lebanon since the start of the ceasefire and the twentieth since hostilities intensified during the Iran war. He was expected to marry his fiancée, Roni, in approximately one month.
May his family be comforted among the mourners of Zion. And may HaShem avenge his blood.
