π‘οΈ ISRAEL EXPANDS HEZBOLLAH STRIKES ACROSS LEBANON AS IDF TARGETS COMMAND CENTERS, OPERATIVES, AND DRONE THREATS AMID PREPARATIONS FOR POSSIBLE BEIRUT ESCALATION
π₯ Ahead of extensive strikes in Tyre and surrounding areas, the IDF issued evacuation warnings to civilians in southern Lebanon. Israeli aircraft later struck Hezbollah infrastructure sites in Tyre, the Beqaa Valley, and additional areas across Lebanon.
ποΈ According to the IDF, the strikes targeted infrastructure used by Hezbollah to support attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF forces. The military stated that more than 70 Hezbollah infrastructure targets were struck over the past 24 hours, including approximately 10 command centers and weapons depots in the Tyre area, using roughly 85 munitions.
π The Israeli Air Force also intercepted a Hezbollah rocket launched toward Israeli territory. In a separate incident, an explosive drone fell inside Israeli territory near the Lebanon border. No injuries were reported.
ποΈ The Israeli Air Force also carried out targeted strikes against Hezbollah operatives traveling on motorcycles in areas where IDF troops are currently active in southern Lebanon.
β οΈ Northern Israeli local authorities warned residents to prepare for a potentially significant escalation overnight following consultations with Northern Command officials. Several municipalities stated that unusually intense IDF activity in Lebanon was expected and could affect border communities.
ποΈ The Upper Galilee Regional Council issued a similar warning, while Israeli media reported that Israeli airstrikes in Beirut were expected in the coming hours. As a precaution, kindergartens and day-care centers in several Western Galilee communities were ordered closed.
π§ The head of the Maβale Yosef Regional Council stated that schools would remain closed to prevent children and educational staff from becoming targets and called for decisive military action to restore security in the north.
π¬ Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called for severe retaliatory measures in Beirut following Hezbollah drone attacks. Smotrich also announced approval of an approximately two billion shekel budget for technological and unconventional drone-defense solutions.
π MK Avigdor Liberman warned that explosive drones could eventually threaten Tel Aviv and Jerusalem and called for decisively defeating Hezbollah before the threat expands further.
π‘οΈ The IDF stated it is continuing to develop and deploy counter-drone measures, including protective nets and additional defensive systems discussed publicly in recent days. The military said procurement and fortification efforts along frontline positions on the Lebanese border are continuing under accelerated timelines.
ποΈ In Gaza, the IDF announced the elimination of Mohammad Abu Mallouh, described as a senior operative in Hamasβ weapons production headquarters, during a precise strike in the central Gaza Strip.
π¬ According to the IDF, Abu Mallouh served as a key knowledge source within Hamas and continued manufacturing weapons during the ceasefire period that were intended for use against Israeli civilians and IDF forces.
π₯ The military stated that precautions were taken before the strike to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance.
