Israeli outlets are identifying the target as Malek Balut, commander of Hezbollah's elite Radwan Force, also known as Unit 125, a special operations force within Hezbollah's military structure.
Reports indicate that Balut was eliminated alongside the deputy commander of the Radwan Force and other senior Hezbollah military officials. The Israeli military has not officially confirmed the identities.
Israeli reports also state the strike was coordinated with the United States.
⚠️ NORTHERN ISRAEL SECURITY MEASURES TIGHTENED: Home Front Command issued additional security measures for northern Israel following the airstrikes in Beirut’s Dahiyeh district.
The measures were implemented amid expectations of a possible Hezbollah retaliatory strike.
❗️ U.S. FORCES DISABLE IRANIAN-FLAGGED TANKER IN GULF OF OMAN: U.S. Central Command announced that American forces intercepted and disabled the Iranian-flagged oil tanker M/T Hasna in the Gulf of Oman after the vessel allegedly attempted to violate the U.S.-enforced maritime blockade on Iranian ports.
According to CENTCOM, the unladen tanker was sailing toward Iran when U.S. forces tracked it in international waters and issued multiple warnings to the crew.
After the vessel allegedly failed to comply, a U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet launched from the USS Abraham Lincoln fired several 20mm cannon rounds that disabled the tanker’s rudder, preventing it from continuing toward Iran.
CENTCOM stated that the vessel is no longer transiting to Iran and emphasized that the maritime blockade on ships entering or departing Iranian ports remains fully in effect.
U.S. officials said forces in the region will continue enforcing the restrictions “deliberately and professionally” to ensure compliance.
⚠️ IRAN WARNS OF POSSIBLE ATTACKS: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf stated: "We do not rule out the possibility of military attacks against us, especially terrorist attacks. The enemy seeks to weaken Iran from within".
🛰️ ADDITIONAL U.S. SECURITY DEVELOPMENTS: The United States will close its consulate in Peshawar, Pakistan, over reported security concerns.
A U.S. intelligence report cited by Reuters states that the Department of Homeland Security identified the Iran war as a possible motive behind the recent attempt to assassinate President Trump.
According to the report, the conflict with Iran may have influenced the perpetrator’s actions.
🇮🇱 HAREDI DRAFT EXPANSION: The IDF says around 360 ultra-Orthodox men were drafted this week.
A total of 231 joined combat roles, including the Hasmonean Brigade, the Netzah Yehuda Battalion in the Kfir Brigade, the Hetz Company in the Paratroopers Brigade’s 202nd Battalion, the Nevatim Airbase ground defense unit, and the Border Police.
Another 131 Haredi soldiers joined combat support positions, including fighter jet technician units.
The military says additional Haredi recruits are expected over the next two weeks as part of the current draft cohort.
The IDF estimates that around 80,000 ultra-Orthodox men between the ages of 18 and 24 are currently eligible for military service but have not enlisted.
The military says it urgently requires 12,000 additional recruits, primarily combat soldiers, due to strain on standing and reserve forces caused by the ongoing multi-front war.
The IDF said it continues efforts to expand Haredi recruitment “out of operational necessity,” including enlarging existing Haredi units, creating updated service frameworks, and enabling advancement into command and officer positions while preserving the ultra-Orthodox way of life.
