In commentary shared by Amit Segel, Abu Ali Express argued that Macron’s claim reflected either a lack of knowledge or a deliberate rewriting of the record to incite against Israel. Abu Ali Express also argued that the remarks resulted from incitement against Jewish settlers in Judea and Samaria and called on Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Sa’ar to respond.
The Prime Minister’s Office issued an English-language statement: “The ridiculous absurdity of Emmanuel Macron’s statement is astonishing. On Sunday, the eve of Yom Kippur, just two days ago, Netanel Shukron—a French citizen and father of six—was murdered in his car by a Hamas terrorist in Judea and Samaria. With his dying breath, he told his son to run. Hamas terrorists carry out attacks against Jews almost every day. They have murdered countless Israeli civilians in Judea and Samaria. Ignorance is no excuse for allowing their blood to be shed.”
Gadi Eisenkot said: “Macron’s statement is extremely detached from the reality on the ground. The fight against terrorism is not negotiable, and international hypocrisy that comes at the expense of the security of Israeli citizens must not be accepted.”
❌ Two suspects detained near the eastern border: The IDF said observation posts identified suspicious movement along the eastern border in the Jordan Valley sector yesterday. IDF forces, Judea and Samaria Border Police, and Israel Police officers from the Judea and Samaria District launched a pursuit.
Troops detained two suspects within a short time and transferred them to security forces for further handling.
♿ Katz signs final emergency accessibility regulations: Defense Minister Israel Katz signed regulations completing a national framework for assisting people with disabilities during emergencies. The final regulations cover basic and essential needs for people who remain in their homes.
The interministerial process, led by the Defense Ministry’s National Emergency Management Authority, covers five areas: assistance within facilities serving people with disabilities; evacuation and reception; access to community healthcare during emergencies; a database for locating, contacting and assisting people with disabilities; and essential assistance for those remaining at home.
The Defense Ministry said the framework was developed with relevant ministries, authorities and professional bodies to ensure continuity of services and assistance tailored to individual needs.
Katz said: “In an emergency, no citizen should be left without assistance. The regulations I signed are intended to ensure that people with disabilities receive the assistance and essential necessities they need, even when they remain in their homes.” He added that the key test would be implementation on the ground and ensuring assistance reaches everyone who needs it.
