🛡️ ISRAEL DEFENSE EXPORTS HIT RECORD $19.2 BILLION AS FRANCE RESTRICTS ISRAELI PARTICIPATION AT EUROSATORY
📈 ISRAELI DEFENSE EXPORTS REACH RECORD $19.2 BILLION: According to the Defense Ministry’s International Defense Cooperation Directorate (SIBAT), Israeli defense exports reached a record $19.2 billion in 2025, representing nearly 30% growth compared to 2024 and marking the fifth consecutive year of record-breaking sales.
Europe remained the largest export market, accounting for 36% of total exports at approximately $6.9 billion. Exports to the Asia-Pacific region nearly doubled to $6.1 billion, while Abraham Accords countries increased their share of Israeli defense purchases from 12% to 15%.
🌍 AIR DEFENSE AND SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS LED EXPORT GROWTH: Government-to-government agreements represented approximately $10 billion of total export volume, while contracts exceeding $100 million accounted for 53% of overall sales.
Air defense, missile, and rocket systems remained Israel’s leading export category at 29% of total exports. Surveillance and optoelectronic systems recorded the sharpest increase, rising from 6% to 22% of exports. Manned aircraft and avionics, along with radar and electronic warfare systems, each represented 11%, while C4I systems accounted for 7% and cyber-intelligence systems represented 2%.
Defense Ministry officials attributed continued growth to streamlined export licensing reforms and expanded approved buyer lists, while noting that sanctions imposed by some Western European governments, increased competition, and the strengthening shekel have pressured industry profit margins.
🇫🇷 FRANCE IMPOSES NEW RESTRICTIONS ON ISRAELI PARTICIPATION AT EUROSATORY: France informed Israel that Israeli participation at the upcoming EUROSATORY defense exhibition in Paris will face new restrictions. Israel will not be permitted to establish an official national pavilion, government representatives will be barred from attending, and Israeli defense companies will be prohibited from displaying offensive weapon systems.
Under the restrictions, only air-defense systems will be permitted for exhibition.
🚫 ISRAELI OFFICIALS CRITICIZE MOVE AS POLITICALLY MOTIVATED: Israeli officials described the decision as discriminatory and politically motivated, arguing that similar restrictions are not being imposed on other international defense industries. Officials stated the move departs from accepted norms governing major global defense exhibitions and reflects broader increasingly critical French policies toward Israel.
Israeli officials further argued the restrictions are intended to reduce international exposure to Israeli defense systems that have demonstrated operational effectiveness against terrorist organizations and hostile regional actors.
Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that the record export figures demonstrate continued international confidence in Israel’s defense industry despite the ongoing war.
