💰 VANCE OUTLINES CONDITIONS FOR IRAN RECONSTRUCTION INVESTMENT: In an interview with CBS Mornings, Vice President Vance said Washington would be open to Persian Gulf countries investing in Iran's reconstruction if Tehran ends its nuclear program and accepts inspections.
Asked whether Iran could gain access to a $300 billion reconstruction fund, Vance said:
"That is the sort of thing they could have access to, funded by the Gulf Coast Coalition, so long as they honor their end of the obligation."
He added:
"We absolutely are open to the Gulf Coast countries investing in the reconstruction of Iran, but only if Iran ends their nuclear program, ends their enriched stockpile of material, and is really open to an inspections and enforcement regime that gives the American people confidence they are never going to have a nuclear weapon."
⚠️ CHANNEL 14 REPORTS IRGC SOURCE DISMISSES COMPLIANCE WITH AGREEMENT: Channel 14 reported comments attributed to a source described as close to the Revolutionary Guards.
According to the report, the source claimed the IRGC has no intention of honoring the agreement.
"We're not really trying to uphold it; we just want the money we'll get from it."
IRGC Commander Ahmad Vahidi was quoted as saying:
"Let's take all the money right now, and then we'll do whatever we want."
The report said the IRGC believes reopening the Strait of Hormuz is President Trump's primary concern. It also said the IRGC may try to apply similar pressure through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait near Yemen.
📃 IRAN DISCUSSES LEBANON-RELATED PROVISIONS OF THE AGREEMENT: Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi discussed the U.S.-Iran agreement in separate phone calls with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry's Telegram account, the discussions included provisions related to Lebanon under the agreement.
⚓ SECURITY INCIDENT REPORTED NEAR ADENL: UKMTO reported that a tanker 111 nautical miles southeast of Aden, Yemen, was approached by a small armed skiff carrying four crew.
The skiff reportedly fired an RPG at the vessel.
🇮🇱 SOMALILAND OPENS EMBASSY IN JERUSALEM: Somaliland announced the opening of its embassy in Jerusalem.
The statement described the move as a historic milestone reflecting Somaliland's growing international presence and the strengthening partnership between Somaliland and Israel, based on mutual respect, cooperation, and shared interests.
