⚓ CENTCOM REJECTS IRANIAN CONTROL OVER THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ: CENTCOM stated: “The Strait of Hormuz is an international waterway. The IRGC has no authority to dictate routes for free and open traffic flow. Commercial vessels continue to use the strait with U.S. military support”.
Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen said: “In five years, the Iranian card regarding the Strait of Hormuz will no longer be relevant. Israel and the Gulf states are currently advancing the IMEC land corridor, which will bypass the Strait of Hormuz”.
🛰️ FORMER CLASSIFIED-UNIT SOLDIER INDICTED OVER IRANIAN CONTACT: An Israeli citizen who served in regular and reserve duty in a classified unit has been indicted for contact with a foreign agent and attempting to provide information for the benefit of the enemy.
The indictment was filed in the Tel Aviv District Court on July 16 by the State Attorney’s Cyber Department following a joint investigation by the Defense Ministry’s MALMAB security division and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet).
Investigators said the defendant maintained contact with an individual who identified himself as an Iranian intelligence operative. He was later asked to help recruit a soldier who could establish contact with the same operatives.
Israeli security agencies warned that intelligence and terrorist elements from enemy states continue attempting to recruit Israelis for espionage, terrorism and other hostile activities, including through social media.
Authorities urged the public to report suspicious or unusual contacts. They emphasized that communication with enemy-state operatives or unidentified foreign elements may constitute a criminal offense from its outset.
🛡️ IRANIAN THREATS AGAINST ISRAELI OFFICIALS: Current and former senior Israeli ministers and officials have received security warnings in recent days amid concerns that Iran may attempt to target them to avenge the assassinations of senior Iranian leaders, according to Yedioth Ahronoth.
The Israel Police is also scheduled to conduct a large-scale nationwide exercise focused on emergency and security scenarios.
🇮🇱 NETANYAHU HINTS AT RESCUE OPTION; PAHLAVI ENVISIONS ISRAELI EMBASSY: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was asked what he would do if forced to land in a country that might arrest him under an International Criminal Court warrant.
He hinted at a possible rescue operation, replying: “We have special forces”, according to Walla.
Reza Pahlavi, the son of Iran’s last Shah, said: “Iran and Israel are the only two countries that have a biblical relationship. We will find the best place for a nice Israeli Embassy in Tehran once the regime falls”.
❗️ HEZBOLLAH VIOLATES CEASEFIRE WITH EXPLOSIVE DRONE: Hezbollah launched an explosive drone overnight toward an IDF engineering vehicle in the Ali al-Taher Ridge area inside the Security Zone.
No IDF injuries were reported.
The attack constitutes a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon by the Hezbollah terrorist organization.
Israel is expected to respond, but the response is not expected to target Beirut’s southern suburbs, according to Channel 14.
