🛡️ IRANIAN ATTACKS DRAW REGIONAL AIR-DEFENSE RESPONSES: Jordan said it intercepted five Iranian drones overnight, while Kuwait reported confronting hostile missile and drone attacks. Explosions were reported in Zarqa, Kuwait and Bahrain, including near the headquarters of the U.S. Fifth Fleet.
Iranian state media claimed that four bases in Bahrain, five in Kuwait and two in Jordan were targeted during the previous 24 hours. The IRGC separately claimed attacks on data infrastructure in Bahrain and a U.S. compound in Jordan, including American fatalities. Those claims were not independently confirmed in the source material.
Nearly 100 U.S. personnel have been injured in Iranian attacks on regional bases this month, according to CBS News. Some suffered traumatic brain injuries, although 96% have reportedly returned to duty.
Iranian attacks also struck Kuwaiti electricity-generation and water-desalination facilities, causing fires and forcing several generating units offline as a precaution. Kuwait said emergency crews extinguished the fires and began repairs.
The UAE condemned the attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan as violations of sovereignty and affirmed its support for measures taken by the three countries to protect their security.
⚓ SHIPPING INCIDENTS CONTINUE AROUND HORMUZ AND THE RED SEA: UKMTO reported that an unknown projectile damaged the steering equipment of a vessel east of Dibba in the UAE. Its crew was safe, and no environmental damage was reported.
A tanker was separately reported struck near Limah, Oman, while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC claimed that two oil tankers using what it called a dangerous route suffered explosions and caught fire, with rescue crews evacuating personnel. Authorities are investigating the incidents.
Two tankers carrying Saudi crude to China and India also reversed course in the Red Sea and headed toward the Suez Canal after warnings linked to the Houthis’ declared naval blockade, according to a Yemeni Armed Forces statement and LSEG shipping data cited by Reuters.
✈️ U.S. AIRCRAFT REPORTEDLY REPOSITIONED TO ISRAEL: Channel 14 reported that the U.S. is evacuating regional bases and transferring refueling aircraft and fighter squadrons to Israel because those facilities cannot currently be adequately protected from Iranian attacks.
The report coincides with broader American preparations for a possible expansion of the campaign, although President Trump’s final decision has not been announced.
🎖️ IRGC COMMANDER PROMISES FURTHER RETALIATION: IRGC Ground Force Commander Gen. Karami inspected forces along Iran’s Persian Gulf coastline and strategic islands, emphasizing continuous readiness, specialized training and a strengthened military presence.
Karami said Iranian forces were prepared to respond to further attacks and vowed that revenge for Iran’s slain leader and commanders “will soon be taken,” according to Fars.
💳 U.S. EXPANDS ECONOMIC PRESSURE ON IRAN: Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said China has substantially reduced purchases of Iranian oil as Washington expanded sanctions against Iran’s petroleum and digital-asset sectors.
The Treasury designated more than 50 individuals, companies and vessels connected to Mohammad Hossein Shamkhani’s network, bringing the total sanctioned under the network to more than 200. Authorities also froze more than $130 million in digital wallets linked to Iran’s Central Bank, targeting financial channels allegedly used to evade sanctions and fund IRGC operations.
The measures were announced amid continuing U.S. strikes, a renewed naval blockade and Iranian attacks on shipping following Tehran’s restrictions on transit through the Strait of Hormuz.
