⚔️ U.S. PRESSURE ON IRAN CONTINUES: Following U.S. strikes on Larak Island, Iranian missiles and drones toward Jordan and the UAE, and Tuesday’s larger U.S. operation around the Strait of Hormuz, President Trump said in a September 3 GB News interview that the war would end “As soon as we win, which will not be long.” He argued the U.S. had already succeeded in preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, said American forces had again destroyed rebuilt Iranian radar systems, and claimed: “We’re taking out 30, 40 boats a night.” Trump estimated Iran would need roughly 25 years to rebuild its capabilities if Washington stopped now, adding: “But we’re not going to do that.”
🛰️ U.S. ACTS ON LOCATION TRACKING AND IRGC CYBER OPERATIONS: The U.S. military disabled advertising trackers on devices following reports that commercially collected location data was used to target American forces in the Middle East. The Army, Air Force and Special Operations Command blocked advertising IDs, although lawmakers told Reuters the measures may not fully prevent tracking. Separately, the State Department is offering up to $10 million for Iranian Brig. Gen. Amir Yaryab, alleged to head the IRGC Cyber Operations Command and direct IRGC-linked groups involved in attacks on critical U.S. infrastructure.
⚠️ JORDAN AND IRAN DISPUTE RESPONSIBILITY FOR REGIONAL ATTACKS: Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said Iran attacked Jordan and other regional states two hours after the war began, arguing that the strikes therefore were not retaliatory and pledging that Jordan would protect its sovereignty. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqhchi responded by questioning how long Iran was expected to wait before responding and alleged that Arab airspace, territory and waters had been used in the initial U.S. attacks that killed Iranians.
⚓ SOUTH KOREA REVIEWS HORMUZ OPTIONS: South Korea’s Presidential Office said Seoul is “studying options regarding the Strait of Hormuz, including military measures,” while rejecting claims that the country has provided no assistance concerning the strait.
🇮🇱 NETANYAHU DEFINES TOPPLING IRAN’S REGIME AS CENTRAL OBJECTIVE: Speaking to the IDF General Staff Forum, Prime Minister Netanyahu said removing the Iranian regime remained Israel’s principal mission and described that objective as “within reach.” He argued that Iran’s avoidance of direct attacks on Israel reflected Israeli deterrence and warned Israel’s enemies: “Do not mess with us.”
🤝 AZERBAIJAN MEDIATES ISRAEL-TURKEY CONTACTS AS SYRIA TALKS REMAIN STALLED: A senior Israeli official said Azerbaijan has mediated between Israel and Turkey, although contacts have declined sharply amid worsening relations and disagreement over Syria. The official described Turkey as a “rival state,” rather than an enemy. Israel-Syria security talks have also failed in part because Israel refuses to withdraw from the “buffer zone,” which it considers strategically important.
