🌐 U.S.-SAUDI CONSULTATIONS FOCUS ON IRAN: President Trump is expected to speak with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman about Iran, according to CBS News. A senior Saudi official told Al Arabiya that multiple intelligence reports indicate coordination between the Houthis, Iraqi militias and the IRGC to prepare attacks against Saudi Arabia. Riyadh said the reports come while it is pursuing de-escalation and believes negotiations have been progressing positively, but warned it would respond to any aggression.
⚠️ IRAN WARNS GULF STATES OVER RENEWED U.S. STRIKES: Reuters reports that Tehran warned Gulf states that another U.S. attack on Iranian territory would trigger retaliation against critical regional energy infrastructure. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf separately accused Washington of using threats, negotiations and what he called “fake news” as leverage, urging the U.S. to fulfill its commitments.
🇺🇸 REPORT HIGHLIGHTS DISPUTE OVER U.S. MUNITIONS STOCKPILES: The Washington Post reported that Trump confronted Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth at Camp David over what he believed were misleading assurances about weapons and interceptor availability that were limiting U.S. military options against Iran. Hegseth reportedly blamed his deputy for failing to brief the President. The White House and Pentagon denied the report. Trump later said the U.S. has large munitions stocks, is expanding production and would seek long prison terms for those responsible for leaking what he called “treasonous” claims.
🛡️ ISRAEL SAYS ITS SECURITY POLICY WILL NOT BE BOUND BY AN INSUFFICIENT IRAN AGREEMENT: Energy Minister Eli Cohen said Israel would strike if Iran attempted to revive its nuclear program or advance its ballistic missile program, even if Washington and Tehran reached an agreement. He said Israel would not consider itself bound by any arrangement that failed to fully guarantee its security.
🛰️ MOSSAD LEADERSHIP REPORTEDLY REASSIGNS SENIOR IRAN OFFICIALS: Channel 12 reported that new Mossad chief Roman Gofman reassigned the heads of the Intelligence Directorate and Iran Division following an unsuccessful plan intended to help destabilize the Iranian government. The proposal involved supporting Kurdish forces in an effort to generate a broader uprising, but was shelved after U.S. officials concluded that regime change was unrealistic and additional political obstacles emerged.
🔎 IRAN CLAIMS 21 MOSSAD-LINKED ARRESTS: Iran’s Intelligence Ministry said 21 people were arrested in Kerman Province for allegedly collecting information on sensitive military and air-defense sites and transferring it to Mossad.
🤝 PAKISTAN, TURKEY AND SAUDI ARABIA SIGN JOINT DEFENSE AGREEMENT: The three countries signed the “Mecca Agreement.” A Turkish official told Reuters that it was not directed against any specific party and remained open to other regional states. The Turkish Presidency said an armed attack on any of the three signatories would be considered an attack on all of them.
