🔸 Pezeshkian seeks agreement before U.S. midterms: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran wants to revive its ceasefire agreement with the U.S. before the November midterm elections, NBC News reported. "We don't want it to get to the midterm elections. We wish Americans to return to the MOU before the midterms," he said.
Pezeshkian also said Iran was 'open' to inspections of its nuclear facilities and denied seeking to assassinate President Trump or his family.
A Fox News correspondent asked: "Will you give up the 60% enriched uranium?" Pezeshkian replied: "Yes, within the framework of international law, based on the Nonproliferation Treaty. Whatever we are supposed to adhere to, we will".
🔸 Gulf states divided over pressure and negotiations: Saudi Arabia and the UAE are urging the Trump administration to maintain economic pressure and sanctions on Tehran, while Qatar is pushing for negotiations, The Wall Street Journal reported.
Qatar’s proposals include a seven-day pause in fighting to facilitate the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Qatar and Oman support a phased reopening and a diplomatic solution. Saudi Arabia argues that Iran should face greater pressure before any agreement, citing attacks on Gulf shipping and Houthi actions in Yemen.

⚓ IRGC claims U.S. ships moved away from Hormuz: Iran International reported that Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps spokesman Hossein Mohebbi claimed U.S. vessels had moved 400 kilometers away from the Strait of Hormuz. Speaking Thursday, he presented the claim as evidence of Iranian military success.
The outlet noted that the account provided no vessel names or verifiable positions, and that distance from the strait alone would not establish a U.S. withdrawal or military setback.
Earlier in September, Iranian security chief Mohsen Rezaei claimed Iran had tested a missile against a U.S. warship. The Associated Press reported that it was unclear whether the test involved the newly described Qassem Basir ballistic missile.
🛡️ Saudi defense pact meeting and French deployment: Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia are convening an emergency chiefs-of-staff meeting following a surge in Houthi attacks on Saudi territory. The planned meeting marks the first activation-level step under their Mecca Joint Defence Pact, which stipulates that an attack on one member is considered an attack on all three.

🛡️ IDF launches interceptor over southern Lebanon: The IDF said it launched an interceptor missile a short while ago toward a "suspicious aerial target" identified over an area of southern Lebanon where its troops are operating.
