⚓ IRAN MOVES TO CHARGE HORMUZ SHIPPING AS IRGC HITS CARGO SHIP AND U.S.-IRAN SECURITY CHANNEL EMERGES
⚓ IRAN SEEKS TO CHARGE SHIPS TRANSITING THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ: Iran is seeking to generate billions of dollars in annual revenue by charging ships for security, safety, and environmental services in the Strait of Hormuz following the war, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Tehran reportedly believes the plan could generate up to $40 billion annually and wants neighboring Gulf states to share in the revenue.
The United States, Oman, and other Gulf states oppose imposing transit fees, arguing that international waterways must remain free of tolls.
💥 IRGC ATTACKS SINGAPORE-FLAGGED CARGO SHIP: According to The Wall Street Journal, citing senior U.S. officials, Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps attacked a Singapore-flagged cargo ship near the Strait of Oman, close to the Strait of Hormuz.
The vessel sustained structural damage after being struck by a projectile. No casualties were reported.
The incident comes after previous IRGC warning shots at vessels in the area and puts the recently established bilateral understandings to the test.

⚠️ HOUTHI THREATENS ISRAELI PRESENCE IN SOMALILAND: Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi warned: "We are closely monitoring developments in Somaliland and the activities of the Israeli enemy, whose aim is to gain control over the Gulf of Aden and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and establish dominance over the Red Sea. We will not stand idly by if it establishes a presence in Somaliland. At any time, we will initiate attacks against any presence of the Israeli enemy in Somaliland."
🔸 U.S.-IRAN SECURITY CHANNEL AND LEBANON MECHANISM: According to N12, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance confirmed that a direct security channel will be established in Doha between a Revolutionary Guards official and a U.S. Central Command officer to "resolve many of the disputes" under an initial framework document.
Vance said the temporary understandings are intended to "open the strait, stop shooting," while the United States evaluates a comprehensive nuclear pact from its perspective.
According to the report, Tehran seeks to lift the economic blockade in exchange for a "stricter inspection mechanism" and the "total elimination of its enriched uranium stockpile."
Regarding Lebanon, Vance classified regional progress as "very good" through a developing friction-prevention mechanism. He said that while Israel and every regional actor maintains an inherent right to self-defense, Washington wants "to ensure that everyone has that right."
