🕵️ Search intensifies for Mojtaba Khamenei: The CIA and Mossad are increasing efforts to locate Iran’s supreme leader, who has not appeared publicly since succeeding his father after the February 2026 airstrike, according to The Times.
Intelligence officials reportedly believe Khamenei was seriously injured and may be hiding in a heavily protected underground facility in Tehran or near Qom. He has avoided phones and computers for more than 150 days, limiting the effectiveness of electronic surveillance.
Intelligence efforts have therefore shifted toward human sources. Former Mossad officials believe Khamenei communicates through layers of unwitting couriers carrying handwritten messages, making penetration of his inner circle the most viable way to determine his location or whether he remains alive.
Some officials suspect the IRGC may be concealing his death, while others believe the Iranian government may be using body doubles to obscure his movements.
📡 Iran reportedly tracked U.S. forces through advertising technology: A U.S. intelligence source said Iran exploited commercial mobile-advertising infrastructure to identify the locations of American personnel across the Middle East.
Applications and websites serving targeted advertisements use precise GPS data to determine which content users receive. Reuters separately reported that CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper warned troops that cellphone activity was helping Iran select targets. Some deployed personnel could be ordered to surrender their phones.
💧 Iran suspected in Minnesota water-system cyberattack: U.S. intelligence agencies assessed that Iran was likely responsible for a coordinated cyberattack targeting more than 30 municipal water systems across Minnesota, according to The Washington Post.
The FBI is investigating the attacks. U.S. officials said available intelligence indicated Iranian responsibility.
⚠️ Unauthorized Israeli entry near Shechem: Israeli civilians entered Areas A and B during an unauthorized hike through the outskirts of Shechem and Tell, one week after a deadly gunfight in Tell.
Palestinians threw rocks at the group, prompting one Israeli to fire warning shots into the air. No injuries were reported. The IDF also received a report that several Israelis had vandalized a cemetery.
Soldiers deployed in advance dispersed the gathering and evacuated the civilians from the area. Palestinians later threw rocks at nearby IDF forces, which initiated the suspect apprehension protocol and fired toward a primary instigator. Palestinian media reported that one person was shot in Juneid.
IDF forces remain deployed throughout the sector. The military reiterated that Israeli entry into Area A is prohibited, dangerous, and illegal.
🛡️ Attempted weapon seizure near Mitzpe Yair: Several Palestinians confronted and threw rocks at a shepherd from a nearby farm in Gush Etzion. When the settlement security officer arrived, one Palestinian attempted unsuccessfully to seize his weapon.
The security officer opened fire and struck the Palestinian in the leg. No Israelis were injured, and the security officer was unharmed.
