⚓ IRAN AND U.S. REMAIN AT ODDS OVER STRAIT OF HORMUZ: Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said Iran and Oman had reached understandings concerning the Strait of Hormuz and that Washington would have to accept Iran’s terms for the strait to reopen.
A U.S. source told Al Jazeera that any understandings between Iran and Oman were “of no significance to us.”
According to Axios, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has told American allies that Washington does not currently intend to resume major strikes on Iran. The administration is instead focusing on sanctions, the naval blockade and efforts to move as much oil as possible through the Strait of Hormuz and into global markets.
📡 IRAN THREATENS FOREIGN MEDIA OUTLETS; TRUMP COMMENTS ON MOJTABA KHAMENEI: Iranian Armed Forces spokesman Abolfazl Shekarchi said BBC, Iran International and Radio Farda are considered connected to Mossad, the CIA and other hostile intelligence services and have been placed in Iran’s “military target bank.” He said the Iranian military does not regard the outlets as media organizations but as participants on behalf of Israel and the United States.
President Trump separately said he does not believe Mojtaba Khamenei is dead, describing him as having been very seriously wounded on the left side of his body. Trump added that if Khamenei were dead, Iranian officials were “putting on a pretty good show” given continued references to consulting him and seeking his final approval.
🌍 SAUDI-HOUTHI RISKS RISE AS PAKISTAN AND KUWAIT EXPAND DEFENSE COOPERATION: The New York Times reported that Saudi Arabia appears to be preparing for a possible renewed war with the Houthis following weeks of attacks on Saudi ships, airports and oil facilities. Analysts cited by the newspaper warned that renewed fighting could open another front in the Iran war, while Saudi officials said the kingdom still prefers a peaceful solution but is prepared to act if attacks continue.
Pakistan and Kuwait separately signed a defense and military cooperation agreement in Islamabad covering Pakistani assistance in training Kuwaiti forces, border management, military coordination, preparedness and operational readiness.
🚫 U.S. DESIGNATES PALESTINE ACTION A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION: The United States designated the UK-based Palestine Action a “terrorist organization” and imposed sanctions freezing its assets.
Britain banned the group under anti-terror legislation in 2025. More than 2,000 people face potential prosecution for expressing support for the organization during demonstrations against the ban, while Palestine Action has received permission to challenge the prohibition before the UK Supreme Court.
