⚠️ IRAN FORMALLY REJECTS U.S. PROPOSAL AS NAVAL PRESSURE BUILDS AND ISRAEL HOLDS SECURITY CONSULTATIONS
🌍 Iran formally rejected the American proposal, with Iranian state media describing it as surrender to “Trump’s excessive demands.” According to Tasnim News, Tehran demanded an immediate end to the war on all fronts, guarantees against future attacks, removal of sanctions and oil restrictions, an end to the U.S. naval blockade, release of frozen Iranian assets, and Iran’s right to “manage” the Strait of Hormuz.
🇺🇸 President Trump publicly rejected Iran’s response, calling it “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!” Iranian sources stated that Tehran’s negotiating team drafts proposals “only for the rights of the Iranian people,” while Iranian state television later confirmed the proposal had been formally rejected. The exchange reflected a shift from attempts to revise the framework toward open rejection by both sides.
🇮🇱 Prime Minister Netanyahu ended his court testimony early in order to hold a security discussion and is expected to convene an urgent meeting with the heads of Israel’s security services following Iran’s response.
🚢 The French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle entered the Red Sea after crossing the Suez Canal as part of a French-UK effort to restore maritime transit through the Strait of Hormuz.
⚓️ U.S. Central Command published images showing multiple American naval vessels operating in the Arabian Sea, including USS George H.W. Bush and accompanying warships. CENTCOM stated that more than 20 U.S. warships are enforcing the blockade against Iran, while 61 commercial vessels were redirected and four vessels were disabled to ensure compliance.
☢️ Former Israeli minister Prof. Yuval Steinitz stated that before the war Iran had been only months away from producing a nuclear weapon, but following Israeli and American strikes it is now years away from rebuilding its nuclear capabilities. He said Israel destroyed enrichment facilities, weaponization infrastructure, conversion plants, and eliminated nuclear scientists involved in bomb development. According to Steinitz, the objective of the war was stopping Iran’s nuclear program rather than regime change.
🛰️ Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that China provided Iran with “a certain amount of support and particular components of missile manufacturing.” China later confirmed that President Trump is expected to visit from May 13–15.
🚨 South Korea condemned the attack on a Korean cargo ship and stated it intends to respond once the aggressor is identified.
🧑💻 Iran executed Erfan Shakourzadeh, a 29-year-old aerospace engineering graduate student involved in satellite projects. Iranian authorities accused him of cooperating with the CIA and Mossad, transferring classified satellite and personnel information, and receiving cryptocurrency payments through LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and Google calls.
🏛️ During the IDF General Staff Forum meeting marking Jerusalem Day, IDF Chief of Staff LTG Eyal Zamir described Jerusalem as representing “the story of the entire State of Israel” and said the IDF reflects the same principle as “the people’s army,” uniting all sectors of Israeli society around defending the state. Zamir also announced plans to establish a dedicated recruitment office and an IDF museum in Jerusalem.
🏙️ Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion described the relationship between Jerusalem and the IDF as “deep and inseparable” and praised plans to relocate additional IDF and defense establishment bases to the capital.
