π Nuclear and Sanctions Timelines: Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Baqaei stated: "Nuclear negotiations and sanctions relief will begin within 60 days."
He said the memorandum of understanding does not include detailed nuclear provisions. Dedicated negotiations on nuclear issues and sanctions removal are set to begin within 60 days after signing.
Baqaei added: "Iran's positions regarding enrichment and high-enriched uranium stocks are completely clear based on the obligations of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT)." He also stated: "However, we must wait and see in which direction developments will go during these 60 days of negotiations."
Baqaei further announced that "full text of the memorandum will be published on the day of signing".
Tasnim, citing an informed source, reported that finalized military and sanctions clauses in the US-Iran Islamabad agreement include specific timelines and operational restrictions.
According to the report:
β’ Article 4 requires US combat forces to leave the vicinity of Iran within 30 days of a final agreement
β’ Clause 9 freezes both US regional troop increases and Iranian nuclear actions during negotiations
β’ Article 9 blocks new US sanctions during the 60-day negotiation period
β’ Article 7 commits to lifting all primary, secondary, UN Security Council, and IAEA Board of Governors sanctions after a final agreement
β’ Article 11 initiates waivers on oil, petrochemical, shipping, and insurance sanctions on June 19
β’ Article 8 establishes extendable 60-day negotiations focused on enrichment and stored nuclear materials
Baqaei additionally stated: "The US is obliged to lift all primary, secondary sanctions, Security Council resolutions, and those of the Agency".
He added: "The release of Iran's blocked assets and compensation for war damages are two important economic priorities in this memorandum of understanding, and the US is committed to implementing them."
Baqaei also stated: "Also, with the signing of this memorandum on Friday, all restrictions on the sale of oil, oil derivatives, and petrochemical products of Iran will be immediately lifted."
β Strait of Hormuz Administration: Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Baqaei stated: "Iran is not merely seeking to collect fees, but will design and collect costs related to navigation services, environmental protection, and ship insurance provided by Iran and Oman".
He added: "The security of the Strait of Hormuz is of great importance to Iran, and all measures taken in recent months have been fully in accordance with international law."
Baqaei stated that under the memorandum, Iran and Oman will jointly ensure maritime security and safe passage in the strategic waterway.
