💢 IRAN CLAIMS MISSILE STRIKE NEAR HORMUZ: IRGC-affiliated Fars News Agency says Iran targeted a U.S. Navy patrol boat with two missiles near Jask Island after it ignored warnings from the Iranian Navy.
The Iranian army says it targeted a U.S. warship with missiles and prevented it from entering the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian opposition channels report that missiles were fired from an Iranian base in Sirik toward the Strait.
A senior U.S. official denies that a U.S. ship was hit by Iranian missiles, according to Axios.
⚠️ IRAN WARNS OF ENFORCEMENT IN STRAIT CONTROL ZONE: The IRGC stated: "Any maritime movements that do not comply with the mechanisms announced by our navy will face serious consequences".
The IRGC also published maps outlining a "controlled zone" in the Strait of Hormuz under Iranian armed forces oversight. The southern boundary runs between Kuh Mobarak in Iran and an area south of Fujairah in the UAE, while the western boundary extends from the end of Qeshm Island to Umm Al Quwain.
‼️ U.S. SIGNALS READINESS FOR CONFRONTATION: U.S. officials told Axios that the operation to help ships cross the Strait of Hormuz could lead to direct confrontation with Iran. They said any Iranian missiles or fast boats launched in response would be destroyed.
A U.S. official added: "The humanitarian mission in the strait means that if the Iranians take any action, they will be seen as aggressors".
Another official said: "Either we will soon witness the outlines of a feasible agreement, or the president will bomb them in a devastating manner".
🚢 LIMITED SHIPPING MOVEMENT THROUGH STRAIT: Only one vessel has transited the Strait of Hormuz since President Trump’s announcement of Project Freedom on Sunday.
The ship is under U.S. sanctions and passed through Iran’s toll-controlled passage.
⚖️ NETANYAHU TESTIMONY CANCELED AMID SECURITY SITUATION: Prime Minister Netanyahu’s testimony scheduled for this morning was canceled hours before it was set to begin following an update from his attorney.
The reason given states: “The Prime Minister was required yesterday to attend the cabinet meeting and additional security consultations until the early hours of the morning, and today he is required to continue with a security-diplomatic schedule.”
