🛡️ ZAMIR SAYS IDF SECURITY DOCTRINE HAS FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGED: IDF Chief of Staff LTG Eyal Zamir said more than 1,000 days of multi-front warfare have produced a doctrine of removing threats before they materialize rather than “ignoring” or “containing” them. He said the campaign began with “the failure of October 7th,” but that Israel has since removed “real existential threats that had been built up against us for years,” while the IDF continues learning and implementing lessons.
Zamir called for expanding the military, broadening the pool of those serving and providing the manpower and advanced capabilities required for growing missions. He simultaneously emphasized the IDF’s obligation to care for mandatory-service troops, career personnel, reservists and civilian employees.
Accepting an award on behalf of the military, Zamir said recognition belonged to the hundreds of thousands serving, their families, and the fallen and wounded. He cited Maj. Shilo Har-Even, a Golani company commander who continued fighting after being wounded at Nahal Oz until he was killed, as representative of “a generation of courageous and fearless troops.” Zamir concluded that the IDF and civil service share responsibility to the country as institutions serving the Israeli public.
⛽ FUEL PRICE REDUCTION TO TAKE EFFECT: The Finance Ministry announced that an order reducing fuel prices by half a shekel will take effect at gas stations at midnight Sunday night.
