💥 STRIKES BEGIN IN SOUTHERN LEBANON: The IDF issued an urgent evacuation warning for residents of Mansouri in southern Lebanon ahead of planned strikes against Hezbollah.
“In light of the Hezbollah terror organization's violation of the ceasefire agreement, the IDF is compelled to operate against it with force,” said Lt. Col. Ella Waweya, the IDF’s Arabic-language spokeswoman.
Residents were instructed to evacuate at least one kilometer north of the village. Waweya added: “Anyone located near Hezbollah operatives, facilities, or weapons is putting their life at risk!”
The IDF subsequently began precise strikes in southern Lebanon, describing Hezbollah’s actions as a blatant violation of the ceasefire. The military has not yet disclosed details of the alleged violation.
Lebanese media reported one person killed and 11 wounded in an Israeli strike in Tebnine. Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency said the strike hit a prayer room in the town’s cemetery.
❌ HEZBOLLAH TUNNEL AND WEAPONS DISMANTLED: IDF forces continue operating in the Security Zone in southern Lebanon to remove threats to Israeli civilians.
During targeted activity near Srobbin, soldiers dismantled a Hezbollah underground tunnel extending dozens of meters. The IDF said the tunnel was used to advance and carry out terrorist attacks against its forces.
In separate operations, troops located a Hezbollah weapons storage facility containing launchers and rockets. Soldiers also found dozens of weapons, including Kalashnikov rifles, anti-tank rockets and additional military equipment.
❗️ SOLDIER SERIOUSLY WOUNDED AT TRAINING BASE: A soldier was severely wounded by an apparent accidental discharge at the Hasmonean Brigade’s training base in the Jordan Valley.
The soldier was hospitalized in serious condition, and his family was notified. Military Police are investigating whether the shooting resulted from mishandling or playing with a weapon by a soldier.
The investigation’s findings will be transferred to the Military Advocate General for review.
🔴 TEL ATTACK PROBE FINDS BRAVERY AND SERIOUS FAILURES: The IDF investigation into the July 24 terrorist attack near Tel found that the civilian hike was conducted without the required coordination.
The force dispatched to the scene was too small. Additional troops failed to establish an adequate operational picture, send reinforcements or deploy medical teams effectively.
Major Yuval Ezra and Captain (Res.) Benayahu Mellet acted with exceptional courage, engaging the terrorists and preventing a potentially far more serious attack. Ezra was killed after charging and eliminating a terrorist.
Investigators could not determine whether Mellet was fatally struck by terrorist fire or incidental fire during the battle.
The investigation also identified a grave evacuation failure. Mellet remained wounded for several minutes with only a civilian medic while Ezra was evacuated.
Two wounded terrorists who fled the scene were later apprehended during a targeted daytime operation at a hospital in Shechem. Mellet was posthumously promoted to captain.
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir adopted the findings and ordered the lessons implemented immediately. He stressed that the exceptional courage displayed alongside serious operational and command failures must strengthen future readiness.
