The announcement expanded an initial disclosure of 10 individuals presented as journalists killed in IDF strikes. The IDF said some of those first 10 individuals had infiltrated Israel during the October 7th Massacre. It said it was publishing what it described as verified evidence, including visual material and documents produced by the terrorist organizations themselves and recovered by IDF troops during operations in Gaza.
The military accused international media outlets of repeatedly alleging that Israel and the IDF deliberately targeted journalists without verified data or findings, including cases in which terrorist organizations themselves identified those killed as their military operatives. The IDF argued that the disclosures expose a gap between international portrayals and the reality on the ground, and provide conclusive evidence that it does not deliberately and systematically target journalists but operates against terrorist organizations and their military operatives in accordance with international law.
A dedicated website compiles the 170 individuals’ names, photographs, roles, organizational affiliations and evidence that can be disclosed. The IDF said it would be regularly updated.
