⚠️ IDF ORDERS EVACUATION OF BEIRUT’S SOUTHERN DAHIYEH FOR THIRD TIME TODAY AS LOBBY 1701 CALLS FOR BUFFER ZONE TO THE LITANI RIVER
⚠️ IDF REPEATS EVACUATION ORDER FOR BEIRUT’S SOUTHERN DAHIYEH: For the third time today, the IDF called on Lebanese civilians to evacuate Beirut’s southern suburbs, a Hezbollah stronghold, amid ongoing retaliatory strikes.
IDF spokesperson in Arabic, Colonel (res.) Avichay Adraee, addressed residents of the area directly: "Do not return to the southern suburb until further notice."
He reiterated that the evacuation order applies to the entire southern Dahiyeh district of Beirut.
🇮🇱 LOBBY 1701 CALLS FOR “YELLOW LINE” BUFFER ZONE TO THE LITANI RIVER: Lobby 1701 called for the establishment of a “Yellow Line” in the north, proposing a buffer zone reaching the Litani River under exclusive IDF control.
The group said the proposal is intended to ensure the security of northern communities after 26 years of failed diplomatic efforts.
According to Lobby 1701, this would not be another demilitarized zone in the style of the old “Security Zone,” but a model similar to the “Yellow Line” in Gaza, aimed at creating a real security space for northern settlements.
Lobby 1701 stated: “These are complex days for residents of the north. Many people’s resilience reserves are nearly depleted, but there is hope that this time a decision will be made that will end the threat once and for all and guarantee the future of the communities in the north.”
The group added: “We call on decision-makers to set realistic expectations with the public and to act to ensure long-term security for the residents of the north – we stop only at the Yellow Line!”
