⚔️ IDF OPERATIONS CONTINUE IN GAZA AND LEBANON AS ISRAEL RESPONDS TO CROSS-BORDER THREATS AND SECURITY INCIDENTS
🎯 Gaza Strip: The IDF eliminated a Hamas terrorist in southern Gaza who was advancing plans to carry out sniper attacks against IDF troops in the immediate timeframe. According to the military, the operative posed an immediate threat to forces operating in the area and was targeted in a precise strike after measures were taken to reduce civilian harm, including aerial surveillance and the use of precision munitions.
🛡️ Southern Lebanon Operations: The IDF said troops under the Southern Command remain deployed in accordance with the ceasefire framework while continuing operations against immediate threats. Over the past 24 hours, Israeli forces struck more than 30 Hezbollah infrastructure sites in southern Lebanon, including weapon storage facilities, observation posts, and structures used to support attacks against Israel and IDF personnel. Several Hezbollah operatives involved in advancing attacks were also eliminated in targeted strikes.
🛰️ Islamic Jihad Commander Eliminated: Overnight, the IDF conducted a strike in the Baalbek area that killed Wael Mahmoud Abd al-Halim, identified as the Islamic Jihad Commander for the Beqaa region in Lebanon. The military said he coordinated the integration of Islamic Jihad operatives into joint combat activity alongside Hezbollah and had recently worked to advance attacks against IDF troops.
🚨 Border Security Incidents: Israeli forces intercepted several threats in northern areas connected to operations in southern Lebanon. An interceptor was launched toward a suspicious aerial target near IDF positions, while additional launches toward Israeli troops triggered sirens in Metula and Qiryat Shemona. Some projectiles were intercepted and others landed in open areas. No injuries were reported. Separately, a Hezbollah explosive drone fell near the Israel-Lebanon border, and shrapnel fragments were later identified in the community of Shomera.
📱 Home Front Command Alert System Update: The IDF Home Front Command released a major update to its mobile application aimed at improving public alert clarity during attacks. The revised system introduces distinct icons, sounds, and color-coded notifications to differentiate between varying threat levels and required civilian responses. The application now also presents alerts in chronological order, improves lock-screen notifications, and more clearly separates alerts tied to a user’s current location from predefined areas of interest. The military said the changes were developed through lessons learned during the war.
🚧 Israeli Activists Cross Into Syria: More than a dozen Israeli activists crossed illegally into Syrian territory in several incidents yesterday, including ten civilians in one event. IDF forces operating in the area returned all individuals to Israeli territory, detained them, and transferred them to Israel Police for questioning. The military described the incidents as severe criminal offenses that endangered both civilians and security forces. The activists, operating under the name “Bashan Pioneers,” have crossed into Syria multiple times over the past year while advocating for Jewish settlement activity in southern Syria.
⛴️ Navy Intercepts Gaza-Bound Flotilla: The Israeli Navy has begun intercepting an activist flotilla attempting to challenge Israel’s naval blockade on Gaza. Israel’s Foreign Ministry called on participants to turn back immediately. According to maritime tracking data, the Global Sumud Flotilla — reportedly involving around 57 vessels — is currently west of Cyprus after departing from Turkey’s Mediterranean coast. Israeli officials reiterated that previous flotilla organizers had rejected proposals to transfer symbolic aid shipments through official humanitarian channels for distribution inside Gaza.
