⚠️ IDF ISSUES EVACUATION WARNING IN BEQAA VALLEY AS STRIKES CONTINUE IN LEBANON; DEFENSE MINISTER SAYS ADDITIONAL POSITIONS SEIZED; DRONE TARGETING U.S. BASE IN SYRIA REPORTED SHOT DOWN
⚠️ IDF ISSUES EVACUATION WARNING IN LEBANON’S BEQAA VALLEY: The warning names the villages of Nabi Chit, Khader, Sarain al-Fawqa, and Sarain al-Tahta ahead of planned strikes on Hezbollah military infrastructure.
“Urgent warning to the residents of the Beqaa area, specifically residents of the villages Nabi Chit, Khader, Sarain al-Fawqa, and Sarain al-Tahta. Hezbollah's activities in the area force the IDF to act against it with force to target its military infrastructure. The IDF does not intend to harm you,” said IDF Arabic-language spokesman Col. Avichay Adraee.
“To ensure your safety, we call on you to evacuate the area immediately and head north,” he said.
Adraee warned that “Anyone who is near Hezbollah members, its facilities, or its [weapons] is putting their life and the lives of their family members at risk.”
“We will inform you when it is safe to return to your homes,” he added.
Lebanese media also reported that an Israeli strike hit an apartment in the coastal city of Sidon.
❗️ DEFENSE MINISTER SAYS IDF HAS TAKEN ADDITIONAL POSITIONS IN LEBANON: Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said the IDF has reinforced troops inside Lebanese territory and expanded to additional positions it has taken.
“The IDF has reinforced troops inside enemy territory and has now significantly expanded to additional positions it has taken,” Katz said during an assessment with senior IDF officers, according to his office.
“No resident of the north should have to leave or move from their land and communities, and our mission is to ensure and guarantee their safety and security,” he added.
Katz said Israel will defeat Hezbollah “one way or another.”
⚠️ DRONE TARGETING U.S. BASE IN SYRIA REPORTED SHOT DOWN: Syrian media reported that a drone believed to be Iranian was shot down after attempting to target a U.S. base in the village of Kharab al-Jir in the countryside of Hasakah.
