🛡 IDF ELIMINATES OCTOBER 7 ABDUCTION OPERATIVES AS NETANYAHU APPOINTS NEW MOSSAD DIRECTOR AND LEADS VISIT TO SOUTHERN LEBANON
🛰️ NEW MOSSAD CHIEF APPOINTED: Roman Gofman, currently serving as Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Military Secretary, has been officially appointed as Director of the Mossad.
He is expected to assume the role in early July for a five-year term.
🇮🇱 LEADERS VISIT SOUTHERN LEBANON: Prime Minister Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir visited southern Lebanon today.
Israel said it is ready to discuss a peace agreement with Lebanon, but not to stop the war against Hezbollah.
⚠️ UNIFIL REPORTS INCIDENT WITH IDF FORCES: UNIFIL said that on two occasions today, IDF soldiers rammed UNIFIL vehicles with a Merkava tank.
In one of the incidents, significant damage was caused to a UNIFIL vehicle.
❌ GOLANI SOLDIERS ELIMINATE TERRORISTS RESPONSIBLE FOR APRIL 7 ATTACK: Soldiers from the 13th Battalion of the Golani Brigade conducted a second raid on a Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure site in southern Lebanon where Staff Sergeant Touvel Yosef Lifshiz was killed during an encounter on April 7, 2026.
At the site, the soldiers identified a terrorist armed with an AK-47 and several magazines while hiding under the rubble of one of the rooms in the building.
The soldiers eliminated the terrorist in a close-quarters encounter.
They also located the body of the terrorist who was eliminated during the April 7 encounter.
The two terrorists eliminated were responsible for carrying out the attack against soldiers of the 13th Battalion in which Staff Sergeant Touvel Yosef Lifshiz fell.
The IDF extended its condolences to the family and said it will continue to support them.
❌ HAMAS TERROR CELL ELIMINATED IN CENTRAL GAZA: The IDF eliminated a terrorist cell that posed a threat to troops operating in the central Gaza Strip.
According to the IDF, the cell had approached the Yellow Line and was planning an imminent terror attack against forces in the area.
❌ OCTOBER 7 ABDUCTION PARTICIPANT AMONG THOSE ELIMINATED: Among those eliminated was Ali Sami Mohammad Shakra, a Hamas Nukhba platoon commander who infiltrated Israel during the October 7 massacre.
The IDF said he took part in the abduction of Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Alon Ohel, Eliya Cohen, and Or Levy from a bomb shelter in Re’im.
The strike also eliminated Mohammad Mabhouh, a regional company commander in Hamas’ al-Bureij Battalion, and Mohammad Fuad Jaser Sayyid.
The IDF said both were involved in holding Avinatan Or in Hamas captivity.
🔹 SYRIAN AUTHORITIES REPORT HEZBOLLAH-LINKED ASSASSINATION PLOT: Syrian authorities said they arrested a five-member cell, including a woman and four men, allegedly linked to Hezbollah.
According to Syrian authorities, the cell had been planning to assassinate Jewish Rabbi Michael Houri in Damascus using an explosive device.
The woman was detained while attempting to plant an explosive near a church in Bab Touma.
