🎯 IDF ELIMINATES ISLAMIC JIHAD TERRORISTS AS LEBANON SAFE ZONE PILOT BEGINS AND HAVAT GILAD FIRE PROBE CONTINUES
🎯 ISLAMIC JIHAD TERRORISTS ELIMINATED IN GAZA: Over the weekend, the IDF, directed by the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), eliminated Islamic Jihad terrorist Taher Ahmad Salem Abd al-Wahed in the central Gaza Strip.
During the October 7 massacre, Abd al-Wahed infiltrated the Nova music festival and commanded the abduction of Inbar Haiman.
In a separate Shin Bet-directed strike in central Gaza, the IDF eliminated Islamic Jihad terrorist Salah Subhi Salah Qatrawi. Throughout the war, Qatrawi attempted to advance attacks against IDF troops near Gaza Humanitarian Foundation aid distribution centers in the southern Gaza Strip.
The IDF said he operated while endangering Gaza residents and cynically exploiting the humanitarian effort. In recent months, the terrorists attempted to advance imminent attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians.
🔸 SOUTHERN LEBANON “SAFE ZONE” PILOT BEGINS: The “Safe Zone” pilot began Monday in southern Lebanon under political directives, with IDF, U.S. Central Command and Lebanese Armed Forces teams coordinating and planning the agreement’s continued implementation.
The IDF will withdraw and redeploy from the Zawtar al-Gharbiya pilot zone to allow the Lebanese Army to enter. Israel views the program as a test of the Lebanese Army’s ability to exercise sovereignty, while the final pilot framework remains undecided.
The IDF said Hezbollah violations will be addressed through a U.S.-led coordination cell and warned that it will respond forcefully to any breach of the agreement.
❗️ TWO ARRESTED IN HAVAT GILAD FIRE INVESTIGATION: Two Palestinians were arrested on suspicion of involvement in causing the devastating fire that swept through Havat Gilad in Samaria on Saturday.
The blaze destroyed at least 13 homes and damaged more than 30 structures, including businesses, vehicles, a garage and a lumber warehouse. Approximately 100 families were evacuated. Two firefighters were injured, but no fatalities were reported.
Police initially said the suspects were arrested over involvement in “setting the fire,” but shortly afterward revised the wording to “involvement in causing the fire.”
Investigators reportedly suspect the blaze may have started after a cigarette butt or another burning object was thrown from a vehicle. Police have not publicly determined whether the fire was deliberately set, and the incident remains under investigation.
Israeli media reported that the two suspects are Palestinian police officers. That detail has not been included in the official police statement.
🛡️ MILITARY EXERCISE AT ZIKIM BEACH: A planned military exercise will take place Tuesday morning in the Zikim Beach area.
Increased movement of security forces, vehicles and naval vessels will be felt in the area. Gunfire and echoes of explosions will also be heard.
The exercise was planned in advance as part of the IDF’s 2026 training program. There is no concern of a security incident.
