🎯 IDF announces elimination of two Hamas commanders: The IDF said a Wednesday strike in Al-Bureij, in the central Gaza Strip, eliminated Muhammad Jamal Ahmad Eid, identified as a commander in the elite Nukhba Force of Hamas’ military wing who infiltrated Israel during the October 7, 2023, massacre.
A separate strike in Gaza City on Tuesday eliminated Saleh Ziad Ibrahim Miqdad, whom the IDF identified as a platoon commander in the Naval Array of Hamas’ military wing.
According to the military, both terrorists had recently advanced attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians, trained Hamas terrorists, increased their readiness, and worked to restore the organization’s capabilities, "in systematic violation of the ceasefire," the army said.
"The terrorists were eliminated to remove the threat they posed," the IDF added.
🪖 Gaza Division intelligence officer formally dismissed: Lt. Col. “Aleph”, identified only by his first initial in Hebrew, has been formally dismissed from military service after months of deliberations and court proceedings. He served as the Gaza Division’s intelligence officer before and during the October 7, 2023, Simchat Torah massacre and is believed to have played a key role in the failures preceding the Hamas onslaught. The division is responsible for the Gaza Strip and its border.
In November, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir announced the dismissal of several senior officers, including Aleph, over their roles in the October 7 failures. Aleph challenged the proceedings in court, temporarily preventing a military dismissal committee from convening and securing a gag order on details of the proceedings.
On June 30, the court rejected all his claims and ruled that the dismissal process was lawful and within the military’s authority. The committee subsequently convened, reviewed the case, and issued its recommendation. Personnel Directorate chief Maj. Gen. Dado Bar Kalifa today ordered Aleph’s release from service.
Aleph has been notified and may appeal the decision to Zamir, according to the IDF. His identity remains barred from publication despite circulating online for months, following his appeal to the High Court against its official publication by the media.
✈️ Air Force drone recovered after crash off Palmachim: An Israeli Air Force remotely piloted aircraft crashed into the sea off Palmachim Beach following a "technical malfunction," according to the military. Israeli Navy personnel recovered the aircraft, and the incident is under investigation.
"There is no fear of information leaking," the IDF said. The accounts differ on the timing: one places the crash yesterday, while another says it occurred earlier today.
