⚠️ IDF CROSSES THE LITANI RIVER, CAPTURES BEAUFORT RIDGE POSITIONS, AND EXPANDS OPERATIONS AGAINST HEZBOLLAH AS ROCKETS AND DRONES TARGET NORTHERN ISRAEL
🪖 IDF Expands Ground Operation in Southern Lebanon: IDF ground forces are operating in the Beaufort Ridge and Wadi al-Saluki area to dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure and eliminate terrorists threatening the Galilee Panhandle and Metula.
The operation began several days ago and is aimed at expanding the Forward Defense Line in southern Lebanon. It was approved by Chief of the General Staff LTG Eyal Zamir after operational planning, preparatory fire, and field preparations led by Northern Command.
IDF forces are working to establish operational control over the Beaufort Ridge and Wadi al-Saluki area. The IDF says Hezbollah infrastructure on the ridge was established under Iranian direction and used to manage military activity and carry out attacks against Israel.
IDF soldiers are also operating against launch infrastructure used to fire hundreds of projectiles toward Israeli civilians and troops.
💥 IDF Operates North of the Litani River: The IDF has crossed the Litani River and expanded operations against Hezbollah targets north of the river.
Before ground forces entered the area, the Israeli Air Force carried out extensive strikes against Hezbollah infrastructure, supported by artillery and tank fire. IDF soldiers also neutralized military infrastructure, secured commanding terrain, and conducted engineering work needed for the offensive operation.
The IDF is operating near Nabatieh, a major Hezbollah stronghold in southern Lebanon, and says it is prepared to expand the offensive as required.
The IDF is also striking Hezbollah infrastructure in Tyre and additional areas in southern Lebanon.
🇮🇱 Katz Says IDF Will Remain at Beaufort Castle: Defense Minister Israel Katz said Israeli forces will remain stationed at the strategic Beaufort Castle as part of Israel’s new security zone in southern Lebanon.
“26 years after the withdrawal from the security zone in Lebanon, the Israeli flag is once again flying over the peaks overlooking the Galilee communities,” Katz said.
“26 years after the withdrawal, our heroic soldiers have captured the Beaufort once again, and will remain there as part of the security zone in Lebanon.”
Katz added: “The capture of the Beaufort and the expansion of the [ground] maneuver constitute a clear message to our enemies: Whoever threatens the citizens of Israel will lose their strategic assets one after another.”
⚠️ Northern Israel Faces Rocket, Drone, and Siren Alerts: The Home Front Command issued precautionary instructions after launches were identified from Lebanon toward northern Israeli communities.
Residents were instructed to enter protected spaces when alerts are activated.
Sirens sounded in Kfar Giladi, Metula, Acre, Zar'it, Rosh HaNikra, and several additional areas in northern Israel.
The Israeli Air Force intercepted most of the projectiles launched from Lebanon. Several additional projectiles fell in open areas according to protocol. No injuries were reported.
Following sirens in Zar'it, the Israeli Air Force intercepted two projectiles launched from Lebanon toward Israeli territory.
After hostile aircraft infiltration alerts near Rosh HaNikra, a suspicious aerial target fell in an open area. No injuries were reported, and IDF soldiers are operating in the area.
🕯️ IDF Soldier Killed in Hezbollah Drone Attack: The IDF announced that Staff Sgt. Michael Tyukin, 21, of the Givati Brigade Reconnaissance Unit from Ashkelon, was killed in a Hezbollah drone attack in southern Lebanon last night.
The attack occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. when a Hezbollah first-person-view drone struck a position where Givati soldiers were operating.
Four additional soldiers were lightly wounded and evacuated to a hospital for treatment.
