💥 IDF COMPLETES MAJOR BEIT HANOUN TUNNEL DISMANTLING OPERATION; ISRAEL STRIKES TO ELIMINATE NEW HAMAS MILITARY WING LEADER LINKED TO THE OCTOBER 7 MASSACRE
💥 Approximately 11 kilometers of underground terrorist tunnel routes were located and dismantled during a significant engineering operation completed by IDF troops in the Beit Hanoun area of northern Gaza.
Troops operated for months east of the Yellow Line to dismantle terrorist infrastructure above and below ground and to defend the communities of the western Negev.
The Beit Hanoun area was one of the main and most complex combat zones in Gaza throughout the war. For years, it served as a central Hamas terrorist stronghold, with infrastructure embedded inside the civilian population.
Hamas built an underground network beneath residential homes, public institutions, and roads, which terrorists used to carry out attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF troops.
💥 As part of the engineering operation, troops conducted hundreds of operations and dismantled hundreds of terrorist infrastructure sites above ground.
During combat in the area throughout the war, an additional three kilometers of underground tunnel routes were dismantled, and numerous terrorists were eliminated by the brigades operating in the sector.
❌ The IDF also carried out an unusual and prolonged strike in the Rimal neighborhood of Gaza in an attempt to eliminate Mohammed Odeh, the newly appointed commander of Hamas’ military wing.
According to a joint statement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, Odeh was one of the architects of the October 7 massacre and had been appointed about a week ago to replace Azz al-Din al-Haddad, who was eliminated in an IDF strike approximately two weeks ago.
Odeh previously served as head of Hamas intelligence staff during the October 7 massacre and was responsible for the killing, kidnapping, and wounding of many Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers.
Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz stated:
“Congratulations to the IDF and the Shin Bet for their ongoing effort to eliminate our enemies. We will continue to pursue all those who took part in the October 7 massacre. Sooner or later, Israel will get to them all.”
⚖️ The Prime Minister’s Office announced that the advisory committee submitted its supplementary opinion regarding the appointment of Maj. Gen. Roman Gofman as head of the Mossad.
A majority of committee members determined there was no flaw in Gofman’s integrity and stated that their confidence in him had been substantially and materially strengthened following the additional materials provided to them.
The Prime Minister rejected the minority opinion that called for further examination and said Gofman had been subjected to an unnecessary ordeal. He stated that he expects the Supreme Court to reject the petitions and not delay Gofman’s assumption of the post immediately upon the conclusion of the incumbent Mossad director’s term, in the midst of a war on seven fronts.
Gofman also criticized outgoing Mossad Director David Barnea, stating:
“His letter is based on things that are not facts and is causing me international damage.”
⚖️ The State Attorney’s Office announced that the Attorney General and State Attorney are considering indicting Prime Minister Chief of Staff Tzachi Braverman, subject to a hearing.
The possible charges include fraud, breach of trust, and obstruction of justice.
