‼️ IDF CHIEF: ZAMIR SAYS DISCIPLINE, UNITY, AND ADHERENCE TO PROCEDURES ARE ESSENTIAL FOR IDF VICTORY AND LONG-TERM WAR READINESS
🪖 During a surprise General Staff exercise held Friday along the eastern border, IDF Chief of Staff LTG Eyal Zamir told commanders that military discipline, professionalism, and unity are critical foundations of the IDF’s wartime operational strength and the path to victory.
The exercise focused on readiness for surprise attack scenarios, including terrorist infiltrations into communities, drone threats, and incidents near the Dead Sea area. Fighter jets and combat helicopters carried out dozens of rapid aerial strikes during the drill, while special forces were deployed by air for immediate intervention inside civilian areas. Israeli Air Force special forces also simulated a terrorist infiltration incident at a hotel in the region.
An initial IDF assessment found that reinforced eastern border defense frameworks and updated operational directives implemented following the lessons of October 7th contributed to the successful response during the exercise. The IDF said a detailed review process will now be conducted to identify operational gaps and improve readiness across multiple threat scenarios.
Zamir stated that Israel has now been at war for more than two and a half years, describing the period as an unprecedented test of military values, norms, cohesion, and discipline. He warned that without strict discipline and organizational structure, “the framework could fall apart.”
The Chief of Staff stressed that military discipline and adherence to procedures are what keep the IDF strong and professional during prolonged wartime conditions. He said the IDF’s unity is centered around the Israeli flag, describing it as the symbol around which all soldiers are united and prepared to sacrifice.
Zamir added that discipline, order, and organization begin with the smallest details and are essential to the IDF’s ability to function effectively and fulfill its missions. Quoting David Ben-Gurion, he said: “discipline for an army is like air for breathing.”
He praised IDF commanders and troops, describing the military as a victorious force because of their dedication, fighting spirit, and sense of mission.
🕯️ IDF Officer Killed in Hezbollah Drone Attack: The IDF announced that Cpt. Maoz Israel Recanati, 24, a platoon commander in the Golani Brigade’s 12th Battalion from Itamar, was killed in a Hezbollah explosive drone attack in southern Lebanon on Friday.
Recanati is the seventh IDF soldier to be killed in southern Lebanon since the start of the ceasefire, and the 20th since hostilities escalated during the Iran war. A civilian contractor was also killed in southern Lebanon.
Maoz, of blessed memory, was supposed to marry his beloved, Roni, in about a month. We all embrace her and his loved ones during this difficult time.
May his family be comforted among the mourners of Zion. And may HaShem avenge his blood.
