⚠️ IDF CHIEF: 2026 TO MAINTAIN HIGH OFFENSIVE TEMPO; ISRAEL GIVES HAMAS 60 DAYS TO DISARM OR GAZA WAR RESUMES
⚠️ IDF chief: 2026 will continue high operational-offensive tempo across fronts: Speaking to reservist brigade commanders, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said Israel remains in a “multi-front campaign” and that 2026 will see continued high-tempo operations “to further weaken the threats and defeat our enemies along the lines of contact.”
“I know how much responsibility rests on your shoulders. The war showed all of us just how much the reserve brigades, and within them the reserve battalion and brigade commanders, are a significant part of the operational core of the IDF. It is our responsibility to take care of the servicemembers, address burnout, strengthen the professional foundations, and return to training alongside the continued intensified operational activity,” Zamir said.
“We are attentive to your needs and to the voices coming from the field, and are working to provide you with the flexibility required for this,” he added.
Zamir also said he “instructed the closure of all ad hoc forces that were established during the war,” adding: “I salute and appreciate everyone who stepped up and assisted at its outset and throughout, but we must operate in a systematic and professional manner. Units and forces for which there is an operational need will be formally regulated and properly integrated.”
🔸 Israel gives Hamas 60 days to disarm or IDF will resume Gaza war: Cabinet Secretary Yossi Fuchs said Israel, in coordination with the Trump administration, is granting Hamas a 60-day window to fully disarm, and that if it does not, the IDF will return to intensive combat in the Gaza Strip.
Prime Minister Netanyahu clarified that the requirement includes small arms, including roughly 60,000 AK-47 rifles remaining in Gaza, which were central to the October 7 massacre.
Fuchs said U.S.-led “Board of Peace” drafts suggested Hamas might initially keep some small arms, but he emphasized the demand is for Hamas to surrender all weaponry within the 60-day period.
He also said the timeline is expected to align with Israel’s next election cycle, with a “reasonable estimate” that by the time of elections Hamas will either be disarmed or the IDF will be back in full-scale combat.
Fuchs added that beyond weapons handover, the mandate includes continued destruction of the tunnel network, saying that while much of Gaza’s infrastructure is no longer standing, the security objectives are not yet finished.
❌ IDF continues eliminations in Gaza despite ceasefire framework: In Rafah, the 7th Armored Brigade eliminated six Hamas operatives found hiding in tunnels on the Israeli side of the “Yellow Line,” bringing the sector total to about 50 terrorists killed or captured in recent months. The Israeli Air Force also eliminated two operatives in northern Gaza during strikes on “suspicious activity” near the border that posed an immediate threat to troops.
🎯 IDF strikes Hezbollah operative in southern Lebanon after violations: The IDF struck a Hezbollah terrorist in the Tallouseh area of southern Lebanon in response to repeated ceasefire violations.
After the Israeli strikes, Lebanese officials are holding intensive talks with the United States urging Washington to restrain Israel and prevent any anticipated escalation.
▪️ Jordan jails three for Gaza-war faction contacts: Jordan’s State Security Court sentenced three young men from the Al-Baqaa Palestinian refugee camp north of Amman to ten years in prison. They were convicted of establishing contact with Palestinian factions during the Gaza war after more than eight months of detention and interrogation by the Jordanian General Intelligence Department.
