❌ Neve Tzuf attacker’s home sealed ahead of demolition: IDF and Border Police forces operating under the Binyamin Brigade in Judea and Samaria sealed overnight the home of the terrorist who carried out Sunday’s shooting attack in Neve Tzuf, in which Netanel Shukron was murdered, the IDF said.
The terrorist was wounded by gunfire from an IDF tracker during the attack and arrested immediately afterward. The home was sealed after the Central Command commander signed a confiscation and temporary sealing order. Security forces intend to continue advancing the demolition process.
📍 Central Command reviews activation of 98th Division headquarters: The Central Command commander and division commanders held a discussion last night on activating the 98th Division headquarters in the areas of the Judea and Etzion Brigades, as part of Central Command assessments.
🛡️ Zamir outlines wartime achievements and force expansion: With the multi-front war approaching its third anniversary, Zamir said IDF operations had fundamentally changed Israel’s security reality following the October 7 failure. He cited the elimination of senior enemy figures whose stated goal was Israel’s destruction, stronger defenses and deterrence, extensive strikes, and the capture and clearing of territory used to plan ground invasions into Israel.
He described the achievements as unprecedented and said longstanding existential threats had been removed, while emphasizing that enemy intentions remained unchanged.
Zamir credited coordination among the IDF’s services, highlighting the Navy’s defense of Israel’s borders and its overt and covert missions. He said naval operations demonstrated the sea’s importance as strategic depth and an offensive arena directly influencing operational outcomes. Katz said the Navy had been a full partner across combat arenas, including those that could not be discussed publicly, and that its growing role would expand significantly further.
Under the “Hoshen” multi-year plan, Zamir said the IDF is preparing for warfare across multiple fronts and domains by strengthening intelligence and strike capabilities and integrating advanced technologies. Growing threats, prolonged operations and the regional and global arms race require an expanded order of battle and advanced platforms to preserve Israel’s qualitative edge, he said.
🛡️ Israel and Latvia explore broader defense cooperation: Latvian Defense Minister Raivis Melnis visited Israel this week and met with Katz and Defense Ministry Director General Maj. Gen. (Res.) Amir Baram. Discussions focused on advancing bilateral defense cooperation, strengthening ties between the countries’ defense establishments and industries, and regional security challenges, with an emphasis on air defense solutions.
Melnis toured Israeli defense companies, viewed advanced technologies including counter-drone systems, and watched an operational demonstration. The tour covered defense industry capabilities and defense research and development, with opportunities explored for broader cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The visit also included Itamar Graf, head of the Defense Ministry’s Policy and Political-Military Bureau; Brig. Gen. (Res.) Yair Kulas, head of the International Defense Cooperation Directorate (SIBAT); and Brig. Gen. (Res.) Dr. Daniel Gold, head of the Directorate of Defense Research and Development (MAFAT).
