🎯 IAF STRIKES TERRORISTS IN SOUTHERN LEBANON: Earlier today in the area of al-Qusayr, IDF soldiers identified terrorists who crossed the Forward Defense Line and approached the troops in a manner that posed an immediate threat.
In two additional incidents yesterday in the same area, armed terrorists also crossed the Forward Defense Line and approached the soldiers, creating an immediate threat.
In all three incidents, the Israeli Air Force struck the terrorists in order to remove the threat. Lebanese media also reported an Israeli strike in the Wadi al-Hujair area in southern Lebanon.
❗️ IDF DISCIPLINES SOLDIERS OVER CHRISTIAN SYMBOL INCIDENT: The findings of an IDF inquiry into an incident in the Christian village of Debel in southern Lebanon were presented Monday night to the commander of the 162nd Division, Brig. Gen. Sagiv Dahan.
The inquiry found that during IDF activity in the area, a soldier damaged a Christian religious symbol while another soldier photographed the act and distributed the image. Six additional soldiers were present and did not act to stop the incident or report it.
The inquiry determined that the soldiers’ conduct completely deviated from IDF orders and values. The IDF expressed deep regret over the incident and emphasized that its operations in Lebanon are directed solely against the Hezbollah terrorist organization and other terrorist groups, not Lebanese civilians.
The IDF said that from the moment the incident was reported, efforts began to assist the local community in replacing the statue. The division commander accepted the findings and the commanders’ recommendations.
The soldier who damaged the Christian symbol and the soldier who photographed the act will be removed from combat duty and given 30 days of military detention. The remaining troops who stood by have been summoned for clarification discussions, after which further command-level measures will be determined.
Procedures regarding conduct around religious institutions and symbols were reinforced to the troops before their entry into the relevant areas and will now be reinforced again for all troops operating there. The findings were also presented to the Chief of the General Staff and the commander of the Northern Command.
The Chief of the General Staff condemned the incident and said it constituted unacceptable conduct and a moral failure, far exceeding any acceptable standard and contradicting IDF values and the expected conduct of its troops.
🛡️ IDF REVIEWS SHOOTING INCIDENT IN JUDEA AND SAMARIA: Earlier today, IDF soldiers were dispatched to the area of Al-Mughayyir following a report of rock hurling toward an Israeli vehicle carrying several civilians, including a reserve soldier.
The reserve soldier exited the vehicle and opened fire at suspects in the area. Upon arrival, the soldiers acted to disperse the violent confrontation.
The IDF said it is aware of claims that two Palestinians were killed and that others were wounded. The incident is under review, and the findings will be transferred to the relevant authorities.
