⚓ IRAN EXPANDS HORMUZ WARNING: The Central Headquarters of Hazrat Khatam al-Anbiya stated: “Considering the blatant breach and violation by the United States of the first clause of the ceasefire agreement, and in response to the continuous and relentless violations of the ceasefire by the Zionist regime in southern Lebanon, the merciless killing and displacement of hundreds of thousands of oppressed people of this land, and also given the failure of the Zionist occupying forces to withdraw from southern Lebanon, it is declared that the Strait of Hormuz will be closed to vessel traffic.”
It added: “It is noted that this is the first step in response to the enemy's breach of covenant, and if the aggression continues, further steps will be planned and taken to compel the enemy to fulfill its commitments.”
The IRGC Navy Public Relations statement also said: “Due to the crimes of the Zionist regime in Lebanon and the US's violation of commitments to establish a ceasefire, the Strait of Hormuz is closed to all vessels.”
It added: “It is emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz is closed and vessels should not approach the Strait of Hormuz; otherwise, their security will be at risk.”
⚓ U.S. DISPUTES IRANIAN CLAIMS: U.S. officials said they see no evidence that Iran has actually implemented a blockade.
Axios, citing U.S. defense officials, reported “no evidence” of Iranian military activity on the ground confirming an operational closure of the transit corridor.
Vice President Vance stated that “The Straits really are open” and said there is no evidence Iran is actually closing the waterway.
U.S. officials further noted that Iran does not control the strait unilaterally and that a record 16 million barrels of oil reportedly passed through it yesterday.
President Trump stated: “There will be NO TOLLS in the Hormuz Strait for 60 days during the Cease Fire Period, and there will be NO TOLLS after the 60 day period has expired, unless they are imposed by and for the United States of America, should the deal not be completed, for services rendered as the Guardian Angel to the countries of the Middle East for purposes of both past, present, and future reimbursement of costs.”
