❌ HEZBOLLAH FIRE HITS UNIFIL POSITION IN SOUTHERN LEBANON: The IDF identified several overnight launches from the Al-Qatrani area that landed inside a UNIFIL force position in Dibbine, killing one UN personnel member and injuring two others.
An examination of the launch trajectory clearly indicates the fire was carried out by the Hezbollah terrorist organization.
The IDF stated that Hezbollah’s launches endanger international forces and harm UN personnel operating in the area.
🔸 LEBANESE PRESIDENT WARNS CEASEFIRE MAY BE “LAST CHANCE FOR PEACE”: Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said: “We are awaiting responses from all parties involved in the ceasefire. Implementation could begin within 24 hours of approval. The deal may be the last chance for peace, otherwise each side will bear responsibility for its actions”.
🐾 ISRAEL DOG UNIT TESTING DRONE-DETECTION SERVICE DOGS: The Israel Dog Unit (IDU), a nonprofit organization specializing in working dogs, has launched a pilot program to train service dogs to detect and alert troops to approaching drones before they reach their targets.
According to Israel National News, the initiative is intended to supplement ongoing IDF efforts to counter Hezbollah’s growing use of unmanned aerial vehicles.
🇮🇱 FIRST FEMALE COMBAT SOLDIER COMPLETES SAYERET MATKAL TRAINING: The pilot program for women to serve in Sayeret Matkal began in December 2024 as part of IDF efforts to open additional combat roles to female fighters.
The IDF said one servicewoman completed a specially designed training track lasting more than a year and a half after passing preliminary screenings and meeting the required criteria.
She is expected to join the unit’s operational activities according to operational needs and IDF protocols governing mixed-gender service.
The IDF stated it “congratulates the soldier on her significant and groundbreaking achievement.”
The military added: “At this time, maximizing the service potential of male and female soldiers from all sectors and populations is an imperative, and the IDF will continue to work toward this goal.”
