🎯 Gaza: Hamas financing and operational commanders: The IDF said it and Shin Bet have eliminated 16 key Hamas financial operatives during the war who managed more than $1 billion in transfers for Hamas’ military activities in Gaza through dozens of money changers in Turkey and the Gaza Strip. Those eliminated included military-wing financial officer Ibrahim Abu Shamala; Mohammed Abu Alwan, responsible for political-wing funds; and Khader Jamasi, Ihab Khraizem and Hussein Qadra, who headed networks managing the offsetting, receipt and transfer of funds.
The military said the money-changing network transfers hundreds of millions of dollars to finance terrorists, weapons capabilities, infrastructure restoration and plots against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians. It said operations against these networks had significantly affected Hamas’ military activities and were focused on preventing its rehabilitation. The IDF warned Gaza residents that continuing financing activity endangered their lives and said those directly participating in mechanisms financing Hamas’ military activities were lawful targets whom it would continue to strike.
In separate strikes in Nuseirat and Khan Younis, the IDF said it eliminated Nukhba platoon commander Ibrahim Fawzi Ismail Mohsen and Hamas military-wing terrorist Mohammed Kamel Suleiman Mohsen, respectively. According to the military, both had recently advanced attacks against troops and Israeli civilians and worked to restore Hamas’ capabilities in systematic violation of the ceasefire. It said the strikes removed the threats they posed.
🛡️ Lebanon: Weapons depot struck; interception under review: The IDF said it struck a Hezbollah weapons storage facility in Sejoud, southern Lebanon, to remove a threat to its soldiers. Weapons identified there had been used to target troops operating in the Security Zone, according to the military.
Separately, the IDF said an initial assessment indicated that an interceptor launched toward a suspicious aerial target in southern Lebanon followed a false identification. The incident remains under review.
