🔪 GUSH ETZION ATTACK VICTIMS TREATED AT SHAARE ZEDEK" Two women injured in the Gush Etzion car-ramming attack were brought to the trauma unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center.
One woman is in serious condition and was taken to the operating room. A second woman is in moderate condition, conscious, and receiving further treatment.
❌ IDF OPERATIONS IN HEBRON AND ARAB SALIM: Following the attack, the IDF began operations in Hebron, the city from which the terrorist came.
The Israeli Air Force has also been conducting strikes over the past hour in the village of Arab Salim, northeast of Nablus.
❗️ ATTORNEY GENERAL ANNOUNCES EXPANDED ACTIONS AGAINST DRAFT EVADERS: The Attorney General convened a discussion on enforcement measures against yeshiva students who do not enlist and stated:
“An agreement has been reached between the IDF and the police to carry out significant proactive actions against draft evaders, including arrests, in the near future.”
Within approximately two weeks, a new system will allow government ministries to determine whether individuals seeking services are obligated to enlist in the IDF. The period between an initial draft notice and designation as a draft evader has also been shortened.
The Attorney General directed the Tax Authority to begin preventing Section 46 tax benefits for institutions attended by yeshiva students who do not enlist within one week. A special team will also be established to address indirect funding channels.
🇮🇱 DERI CRITICIZES ATTORNEY GENERAL: Shas chairman Rabbi Aryeh Deri responded:
“The dismissed and anarchist Attorney General, charging ahead with arrests and harsh sanctions against Torah students, is pushing the ultra-Orthodox public to the brink and will lead it to a tax revolt, a break with the police, and a deep rift with state authorities. Anyone who cares about the future of the country must rise up against this madness.
I cry out and warn the Prime Minister and the heads of the right-wing parties — Likud, Religious Zionism, and Otzma Yehudit: If you truly wish to preserve the existence of the right-wing bloc, you must stand firmly against this criminal persecution. Your voices are not being heard! It cannot be that we will be the punching bag of this government, that they will harm everything sacred and dear to the Jewish people, while you stand by and remain silent. Silence is filth!”
📌 NETANYAHU APPOINTS NEW NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER: The Prime Minister’s Office announced that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has appointed Shmuel Ben Ezra as Head of the National Security Council and National Security Adviser.
Ben Ezra brings more than 30 years of security experience. He led the development of the Arrow 3 interceptor missile project, which received the Israel Defense Prize.
Most recently, he served for four years in the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) as Head of the Technology for Operations and Cyber Division, a position equivalent to the rank of Major General.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics with highest distinction, a master’s degree in Applied Physics, a master’s degree in Business Administration with highest distinction, and a master’s degree in Political Science specializing in National Security with highest distinction. He is also a graduate of the National Defense College with highest distinction.
The Prime Minister’s Office said Ben Ezra has innovative thinking, deep familiarity with security and technology, and extensive experience working with government agencies in the United States and around the world. It said he will assist the Prime Minister in strengthening Israel’s security, political, and economic resilience while advancing Israel as a global technological powerhouse.
