🌍 GULF STATES REPORTEDLY FRUSTRATED WITH U.S. IRAN POLICY: Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain increasingly view President Trump’s handling of the Iran war as erratic and ineffective, according to The Washington Post. While remaining dependent on U.S. security support, the Gulf states are reportedly exploring alternatives, including deeper regional defense partnerships.
🪖 IDF EXTENDS COMPULSORY SERVICE TO 32 MONTHS: Following government and Knesset decisions and citing operational security requirements, the IDF detailed the extension of compulsory service from 30 to 32 months for male soldiers and women serving under equivalent obligations who enlisted from July 2024, as well as relevant new enlistees through June 2029.
Soldiers who enlisted for 30 months between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2026 will receive additional compensation for months 31 and 32. Those who enlisted through June 2025 will receive twice their basic monthly subsistence allowance, while those enlisting from July 2025 through June 2026 will receive 1.75 times the basic allowance. Exact amounts depend on service characteristics.
The extension also applies to relevant officers and may affect discharge dates and transitions into career service. Updated discharge dates are expected to appear in IDF systems by the end of September.
🇨🇴 ISRAELI RESCUE TEAMS OPERATE IN EARTHQUAKE-HIT COLOMBIA: A delegation led by the Home Front Command, working with Israel’s Defense and Foreign Ministries, is assisting Colombian authorities following the earthquake.
Israeli teams are operating at two major impact sites to locate trapped individuals. At a damaged university hospital in Cali, Home Front Command engineers are assisting complex rubble-removal work intended to reach trapped people and help restore the affected wing.
The delegation is also mapping damaged buildings, helping prioritize the local response and establishing a data-management system to support situational assessments and decision-making.
