🤝 GAZA PHASE TWO TALKS AND ISRAELI POLITICAL DEVELOPMENTS
🕑 Published: July 31, 2026 · 1:47 AM Israel time
🔸 Phase Two Gaza negotiations are reportedly advancing, but key disagreements remain unresolved.
The emerging framework between Hamas and the mediators would require the dismantling of police weapons, light and heavy arms, tunnels, stockpiles and weapons-production facilities.
Only the Palestinian Gaza Administration Committee would ultimately be permitted to possess or control weapons, under the principle of “one authority, one law and one weapon.” Hamas would also be required to end recruitment, force buildup and all military activity.
Weapons transfers could begin within weeks, with the arms removed from service and stored in depots guarded by multinational forces. The Peace Council said Hamas must also be removed entirely from governance, whether openly or behind the scenes.
Israel would not withdraw from the original yellow line until Hamas is disarmed and Gaza fully demilitarized. Targeted killings would reportedly cease in exchange for an end to Hamas’s military buildup, while Israel would retain the right to act against emerging threats or renewed force reconstruction.
An Israeli political source said Gaza was not discussed during Netanyahu’s meeting with Trump. Israel reportedly considers the proposed 15-point document insufficient and has communicated its reservations to envoy Tony Blair.
✈️ Netanyahu has returned to Israel following his visit to the United States.
His aircraft landed at Nevatim Airbase, from which it had departed for security reasons. The weekly government meeting scheduled for Sunday will not take place.
🪖 Israel is considering renewed military action in refugee camps in Judea and Samaria.
A senior political official disclosed the consideration during a briefing in Washington but provided no additional operational details.
Addressing a controversial Likud video targeting Gadi Eisenkot, the official said Netanyahu had not seen it and believed bereavement should not be used for political purposes by either side. The official also criticized the response to alleged threats against Yair and Sara Netanyahu.
🗳️ A Channel 13 poll places Netanyahu and Eisenkot level at 23 seats.
Naftali Bennett receives 13 seats, while parties led by Chili Troper and Yoaz Hendel receive five seats. The bloc aligned with Eisenkot reaches 60 seats.
