Police initially referred to suspected involvement in “setting the fire” but later changed the wording to “involvement in causing the fire.”
Investigators reportedly believe it may have begun after a cigarette butt or another burning object was thrown from a vehicle. Police have not publicly determined whether the fire was deliberate.
Israeli media identified the suspects as Palestinian police officers, but that detail was not included in the official police statement.
