β FOUR TERRORISTS APPREHENDED AFTER IDF WEAPON STOLEN NEAR SUSYA: Security forces apprehended four terrorists involved in attacking an off-duty IDF soldier and stealing his weapon near Susya on Saturday.
Following the attack, forces searched the area, recovered the stolen weapon and apprehended two terrorists. Duvdevan Unit soldiers apprehended a third terrorist overnight during an operation near Yatta.
A fourth terrorist turned himself in to Civil Administration personnel earlier today as searches continued. All four were transferred to the security forces for further investigation.
π TWO ISRAELI ACTIVISTS DETAINED AFTER CROSSING INTO SYRIA: Two Israeli settlement activists crossed the border from the Mount Hermon area into Syrian territory earlier today.
βIDF troops who were dispatched to the scene located the civilians, returned them to Israeli territory, and detained them,β the military said. They were transferred to the Israel Police for further handling.
The two identify with the Bashan Pioneers, a group advocating the establishment of Israeli settlements in southern Syria. Attempts by activists associated with the group to cross the border have increased in recent weeks.
βThe IDF strongly condemns the incident, which constitutes another serious disruption of operational activity and poses a danger to the safety of IDF troops operating in the area,β the military said.
The IDF added that βlaw enforcement authorities are required to bring those involved to justice and to prevent those individuals from repeatedly engaging in this incident, which constitutes a criminal offense.β
No charges have been filed against Bashan Pioneers members over previous incidents. Despite the groupβs illegal actions, it has also received support from coalition lawmakers.
