The IDF said it struck more than 80 targets overnight, including command centers, terrorists, launch positions, and additional terrorist infrastructure sites in the Nabatieh area and elsewhere in southern Lebanon, both inside the Security Zone and beyond it.
A short while ago, the IDF also struck two Hezbollah command centers in the Beqaa Valley while Hezbollah terrorists were operating inside.
According to the IDF, dozens of Hezbollah terrorists operating from the targeted command centers were eliminated.
⚔️ HEZBOLLAH ROCKET FIRE TARGETED IDF SOLDIERS: Overnight, the IDF identified rocket fire launched by Hezbollah toward IDF soldiers operating in southern Lebanon.
Following the launch, the IDF eliminated two terrorists who fled the area on a motorcycle.
The military then struck and dismantled the launcher used to fire the rockets at Israeli forces.
📍 IDF CONTINUES OPERATIONS IN SOUTHERN LEBANON: The IDF says its forces continue their mission in southern Lebanon, with a focus on dismantling strategic underground infrastructure built by Hezbollah over many years in the Beaufort area.
🇮🇱 DEFENSE MINISTER: IDF WILL REMAIN IN SECURITY ZONE: Defense Minister Israel Katz said the IDF will remain in southern Lebanon following the overnight Hezbollah attacks.
"We will not allow harm to our soldiers and civilians, and every violation of the ceasefire by Hezbollah will be met with great force," Katz said.
"The IDF will remain in the security zone in Lebanon, from the coastline to the heights of the Beaufort, to protect the northern communities, thwart threats, and destroy terror infrastructure in the area, both below and above ground," he added.
🔸 LEBANESE PARLIAMENT SPEAKER COMMENTS ON CEASEFIRE: Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri stated:
"I confirm the commitment of Hezbollah to a ceasefire, as long as Israel fully and comprehensively abides by it."
❗️ FOUR IDF SOLDIERS KILLED IN HEZBOLLAH ATTACK: The IDF announced the death of Lt. Col. Dor Gedalia Ben Simhon, 32, commander of the 401st Armored Brigade's 52nd Battalion, from Beit HaShita.
Ben Simhon and three additional soldiers were killed overnight in southern Lebanon. Their families have been notified, but the names of the three additional fallen soldiers have not yet been cleared for publication.
According to the IDF, shortly after midnight, a suspected explosive drone or anti-tank missile struck the battalion commander's tank in the southern Lebanon village of Kfar Tebnit.
All four tank crew members were killed.
The exact cause of the explosion remains under investigation by the IDF.
Ben Simhon had replaced the previous battalion commander, who was severely wounded in southern Lebanon in April.
May his family be comforted among the mourners of Zion. And may HaShem avenge his blood.
🛡️ ADDITIONAL SOLDIERS WOUNDED IN SEPARATE DRONE ATTACK: In a separate Hezbollah attack several hours later in Kfar Tebnit, an explosive drone struck forces from the Commando Brigade.
Initial reporting said five soldiers were wounded, including one seriously, three moderately, and one lightly.
The IDF later stated that an IDF reserve officer was severely injured, and three reserve NCOs and an NCO were lightly injured as a result of the explosive drone impact in southern Lebanon.
The soldiers were evacuated to receive medical treatment at a hospital, and their families have been notified.
