🔹 Eisenkot demands accountability and a state commission of inquiry: Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the Yashar! with Eisenkot party, said: “The accumulation of facts revealed recently, including over the weekend, concerning warnings from the heads of the security establishment and officials from various foreign countries leaves no room for doubt: Netanyahu, through blindness, arrogance, and irresponsibility, led the State of Israel into the greatest disaster in its history.
The systematic attempt to evade responsibility, spread conspiracy theories about betrayal, and retroactively manipulate public perception is collapsing in the face of reality. The accumulating documentation and information prove that Netanyahu clearly and unequivocally betrayed the public’s trust and failed in his duty.
The thought of what might have happened had he heeded the warnings—how many lives could have been saved and what Israel’s standing might be today—should keep every Israeli citizen awake at night.
Netanyahu and the cabinet members who have not taken responsibility for October 7 are unfit to lead the recovery and rebuilding that the people of Israel so desperately need.
In one month, Israel’s citizens will choose to establish a responsible and worthy government—one that will establish a state commission of inquiry, draw the necessary conclusions, prevent the next disaster, and work to rebuild Israel.”
🔹 Eisenkot accuses Netanyahu over Qatar: In a separate statement, Eisenkot characterized Netanyahu’s actions regarding Qatar as falling somewhere between breach of trust and treason.
🗳️ Opposition leaders meet and pledge mutual restraint: Eisenkot, Bennett, Lieberman and Golan were reported to be meeting at Lapid’s home.
The party leaders’ pledge in a document stated: “From now on, none of us, nor anyone acting on our behalf, will attack a fellow party in the bloc or its leader.”
Commentary on Amit Segal’s Telegram channel attributed the meeting, photograph and document to pressure from below, arguing that each participant understands that attacking fellow bloc members would also damage his own standing.
It questioned how long the agreement would hold, particularly the promise not to discuss who would be the candidate for prime minister, given that three participants want the position.
🗳️ Disagreement over Ra’am’s role in a future government: Speaking on “Meet the Press,” Eisenkot said Ra’am would not be part of the next government. Segalovich argued that Eisenkot would not have a government without Ra’am.
