⚠️ U.S. OFFICIALS REPORTEDLY FLAGGED AIR-DEFENSE STOCK RISKS: Renewed large-scale operations against Iran remained militarily feasible, but prolonged escalation could further strain limited stocks of Patriot, THAAD and other advanced air-defense interceptors.

❗️ PENTAGON SEPARATES CASUALTIES ACROSS TWO CATEGORIES: The updated Defense Casualty Analysis System lists 14 troops killed and 417 wounded under Operation Epic Fury. A newly created “Overseas Operations” category covering incidents since July 7 lists four additional deaths and 207 wounded.
Combining both categories produces a total of 18 killed and 624 wounded. However, the Pentagon has not confirmed that all 207 personnel listed in the new category were wounded by Iranian attacks or during Iran-related operations.
The four additional fatalities include three Army soldiers killed following an Iranian attack in Jordan and one soldier killed in Iraq during the controlled detonation of a downed attack drone. Those deaths were placed under the separate category rather than restored to the official Operation Epic Fury count.
The update follows repeated fluctuations in Pentagon casualty data. Twelve Democratic members of the Senate Armed Services Committee demanded clarification from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth regarding casualty reporting and transparency. Pentagon officials attributed the earlier changes to temporary data disruptions, but the department has not explained the full scope of the new category or why casualties connected to the renewed conflict were separated from Operation Epic Fury.
