🛡️ DRONES INTERCEPTED NEAR JORDAN: The IDF said: “A short while ago, the Israeli Air Force intercepted a UAV in the area of the Jordan border. The UAV did not cross into Israeli territory. The origin of the launch is under review. No sirens were sounded in accordance with protocol.”
The Jordanian Army separately said: “We shot down a drone that violated Jordanian airspace in the eastern desert.”
Iran-backed Iraqi factions have fired 20 drones toward Israel, Jordan and Saudi Arabia over the past several days, according to i24 News. Israel believes the drones intercepted today near the Israeli-Jordanian border were launched from Iraq.
The IDF estimates that three drone attacks targeting Israel last week also originated from Iraq, according to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority.
⚠️ KATZ: U.S. AIRCRAFT OPERATING FROM ISRAEL AGAINST IRAN: Defense Minister Israel Katz told Channel 14 that American fighter jets are taking off from Israel to conduct strikes in Iran.
“The fact that right now—this could change in an hour—the Iranians are firing at everything in the area, except for one country: the State of Israel, because they know that... American planes are taking off from here, refueling and taking off from here... to attack, there is deterrence.”
Katz stressed that this does not guarantee what Iran will do next, but said Israel has clearly communicated the consequences of an attack.
“If they fire at Israel, we will attack with full force. We have struck Iran twice, and we are prepared to strike a third time—blue and white.”
Katz also disclosed a disagreement with Washington over potential Israeli targets in Iran.
“We very much want to strike Iran's energy infrastructure targets, but the United States is not approving it at the moment.”
⚠️ KATZ WARNS ABOUT TURKEY AND THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD AXIS: Katz said: “We have dealt a mortal blow to the Iranian axis—the Shiite axis of evil—plus Hamas, which joined them to destroy us.”
He warned that the Muslim Brotherhood axis involving Turkey and Qatar could be no less dangerous.
“The Muslim Brotherhood axis is an axis that, in a sense, can be no less dangerous. And Turkey, Qatar, the Muslim Brotherhood—by the way, they are not only anti-Israel. They plot against Sisi to overthrow him, against Abdullah to overthrow him.”
Katz said Israel and the United States may view the threat differently, but Israel must act according to its own interests.
“We are responsible for our own interests. We cannot allow Erdoğan to strengthen Syria against us.”
Katz said Israel is not seeking another conflict but would not retreat from protecting its interests.
“We have no ambition now to enter into conflicts, and he should not have such an ambition because our strength is with us. We are not blinking.”
Addressing rhetoric concerning Jerusalem, Katz said: “Jerusalem is not Constantinople, which you conquered and established the Ottoman Empire.”
