🇮🇱 SHAS PETITIONS COURT AS DRAFT DISPUTE SHARPENS: Shas petitioned Justice Solberg against the attorney general, demanding that the memorial event for Rabbi Ovadia Yosef be allowed to take place.
Aryeh Deri said: “I don’t need to call on those who aren’t studying to enlist; let the army deal with it.”
Naftali Bennett responded: “Deri is harming our soldiers and cannot serve in another Israeli government.”
Avigdor Liberman said: “Aryeh Deri has become Israel’s number-one promoter of draft dodging. Rabbi Ovadia is turning in his grave.”
📍 EISENKOT CAMP COMMENTS ON FARMS AND OUTPOSTS DRAW LIKUD, SMOTRICH RESPONSE: Yoram Cohen, Eisenkot’s number two, called for evacuating some farms and settlement outposts built by Smotrich that were not established by government decision.
Likud responded: “Another hidden truth has come to light. Eizenkot’s number two reveals the truth: Eizenkot will form a left-wing government that will destroy the settlements. Eizenkot will establish a government that will create a Palestinian state.”
Religious Zionism chairman and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said: “For many months now, I have been warning that an Eisenkot government would evacuate the communities and farms we established. Now Yoram Cohen, a senior figure in Eisenkot’s party, is saying it in his own words. The only way to ensure that this disaster does not happen is for the right not to waste precious votes. I call on Ofer Winter to listen carefully to Yoram Cohen’s grave remarks and understand the gravity of the moment. If Winter runs independently, the communities we established will be in danger. If he takes responsibility and joins a united slate, as the public wants—with God’s help, we will win. It is time for unity and responsibility in the national camp.”
