๐ช IDF Marks 1,000 Days of War: Chief of the General Staff LTG Eyal Zamir described the current conflict as the longest in Israel's history, saying it began with the country's worst national disaster but has since produced unprecedented military achievements. Marking the upcoming 20th anniversary of the Second Lebanon War, he said the milestone offers an opportunity to remember the fallen, learn lessons, and strengthen operational preparedness.
Zamir said Iran remains the IDF's primary strategic focus. Although Israel is currently in an interim phase across multiple fronts, he stressed that every theater remains active and interconnected. He instructed forces to maintain readiness for rapid escalation while using the current period to reduce operational strain, care for personnel, and improve preparedness. He also credited Israel's military achievements to combat forces, reservists, career personnel, commanders, and the support systems sustaining them, calling continued investment in their welfare a national priority.
๐ฅ Defense Ministry Warns Rehabilitation System Is Under Growing Strain: The Defense Ministry's Rehabilitation Department reported that approximately 26,200 wounded IDF and security personnel are currently receiving treatment.
Roughly 65% are being treated for psychological injuries, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders. Around 17,000 are coping with psychological trauma, including 7,700 who also suffered physical injuries, while another 9,000 are being treated solely for physical wounds, including 97 amputees. Nearly half of all patients are under 30 years old, and about 62% are reservists.
The ministry projects the total number of wounded personnel from all Israeli wars will surpass 90,000 during 2026 and could reach 100,000 by 2028, including roughly 50,000 with psychological injuries. Officials warned that without implementing the recommendations of the Prof. Shlomo Mor-Yosef committee and providing additional funding, Israel's national rehabilitation system could face collapse despite significant expansion of rehabilitation and mental health services.
๐ฏ Northern Front: IDF forces operating inside the security zone identified a Hezbollah operative emerging from an access shaft connected to underground terrorist infrastructure at the Ali al-Taher Ridge. After determining he posed an immediate threat, the Israeli Air Force struck and eliminated him. Separately, sirens in Avivim and Yir'on were later determined to have resulted from a false identification.
๐ Judea and Samaria: Security forces arrested a suspect following an attempted vehicle-ramming attack near Beit Ummar in which no injuries were reported. The suspect was apprehended near the Metzadot Yehuda crossing through cooperation between the Ministry of Defense Crossings Authority and IDF forces before being transferred for further investigation.
๐๏ธ Gaza: Defense Minister Israel Katz said the IDF has demolished approximately 83% of Hamas's tunnel network within areas currently controlled by Israeli forces inside Gaza.
๐ต๏ธ Iranian Espionage Inside Israel: Israeli prosecutors submitted a declaration of intent to file a severe indictment against Behrouz Sobirgon, a Tajik citizen holding a Russian passport, following a joint investigation by the Defense Ministry, Israel Police, and the Israel Security Agency.
Investigators allege he knowingly worked for an Iranian intelligence handler after initially being approached through what appeared to be a legitimate job offer. Authorities say he documented Iranian missile impact sites during Operation Rising Lion, provided the coordinates of the Azrieli Towers, photographed the Port of Haifa, attempted to photograph a sensitive security installation, and assisted efforts to recruit additional spies.
Israeli security agencies warned that Iran continues attempting to recruit operatives through social media and seemingly legitimate employment offers, urging the public to report suspicious contacts.
