Iranian media claimed American forces attacked Iranian oil tankers and additional vessels near Jask and the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s joint military command accused the United States of violating the ceasefire and stated Iranian forces retaliated against U.S. naval assets east of the strait and south of Chabahar.
An Israeli source confirmed exchanges of fire between Iran and the United States near the strait, while Reuters reported Iranian forces were actively targeting American naval vessels in the region.

Iranian sources further alleged attacks against three American destroyers in the Sea of Oman and cruise missile launches toward an American destroyer off Abu Dhabi.
Additional Iranian claims included reported damage to several U.S. destroyers, a strike on the USS Arleigh Burke, the downing of two American reconnaissance drones near Abadan, and the withdrawal of multiple U.S. warships from the area. No American confirmation was issued regarding these claims.
🇺🇸 CENTCOM Response And U.S. Military Operations: The U.S. military confirmed that Iranian forces launched missiles, drones, and small boats at three American guided-missile destroyers transiting the Strait of Hormuz toward the Gulf of Oman.
CENTCOM identified the vessels as USS Truxtun (DDG 103), USS Rafael Peralta (DDG 115), and USS Mason (DDG 87), stating that no American assets were struck.
The U.S. military confirmed carrying out “self-defense” strikes inside Iran after what it described as “unprovoked Iranian attacks.” According to CENTCOM, American forces intercepted incoming threats and struck Iranian missile and drone launch sites, command-and-control infrastructure, and ISR nodes connected to the attacks.
CENTCOM stated it “does not seek escalation” while remaining prepared to defend American forces.
